I accidentally forgot to upload this picture of Timothee Chalamet from the Gotham Awards, so I'm sharing it here. He apparently has the mustache because he's shooting a movie in which he plays a 1950s ping-pong player, and not because he's decided that it's his new aesthetic. I think he would be correct not to keep it.

This week on GFY started out HOT, with[ our holiday gift guide,](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/happy-holidays-its-the-2024-gfy-gift-guide-12-2024/) British Fashion Awards ([part 1](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/rihannas-enormous-vintage-hat-was-the-biggest-statement-of-the-british-fashion-awards-12-2024/), [part 2](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/the-rest-of-the-british-fashion-awards-were-only-slightly-less-dramatic-12-2024/)) AND the Gotham Awards ([part 1](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/zendaya-kept-it-very-simple-at-the-gotham-awards-12-2024/), [part 2](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/nicole-kidmans-vintage-dg-leads-the-brights-of-the-gotham-awards-12-2024/)), and we also got a [double-barrel](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/so-many-nipples-on-gfy-today-12-2024/) of [double nipples](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/emma-corrin-is-committed-to-nipples-right-now-12-2024/) from Emma Corrin. Over at Drinks With Broads, [our free issue on Tuesday](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/p/christmas-in-the-spotlight-was-a) talked about Apple Martin's terrible custom look for her absurd Parisian debutante ball and tucked into *Christmas in the Spotlight*, Lifetime's cringefest about Taylor and Travis. Yesterday, the paids got a treatise on [*Holiday Touchdown*](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/p/holiday-touchdown-scores-mostly) and *A Real Pain*, which might be Kieran Culkin's Oscar movie. (I promise I'm not going to spend all of December just discussing Christmas movies; it just happened that way this week.) It was chock-a-block with words about stuff over there.

Also: **We are running a sale on annual subscriptions to Drinks With Broads -- it is currently 20% off, so $40 a year instead of $50.** This is a DEAL! So if you've been on the fence, now is the time. [Save yourself some money and get ready for all the awards season fun on the horizon. ](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/subscribe)

Elsewhere in the Interworld:

\-- [Lainey breaks down the rumors about Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan's breakup](https://www.laineygossip.com/was-sabrina-carpenter-barry-keoghans-reported-breakup-caused-by-tiktok-influencer-cheating-scandal/80334?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), which appears to involve dueling TikTok influencers? I cannot bring myself to learn about them any more than Lainey already has, so thank you to her for doing the Lord's work in filtering the gossip for me.

\-- The trailer for Netflix's Aaron Rodgers documentary has dropped, and [I am in full agreement with Pajiba that Aaron Rodgers is THE WORST](https://www.pajiba.com/news/watch-the-trailer-for-aaron-rodgers-documentary-oh-look-here-comes-karma.php?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io); what I can't decide is whether I can tolerate him long enough to get through this thing, even as a hate-watch. I suspect I might fight through it for Drinks With Broads, but... am I strong enough?

\-- *The Ringer* [did an amusing oral history of the time in 2017](https://www.theringer.com/2024/12/03/food/chick-fil-a-waffle-fries-fast-food-rankings?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) when they declared Chick-Fil-A fries the best in America: "You have a problem. You have an immediate credibility problem when you trot out a list that purports to be a ranking, and the very first thing that appears on that list is waffle fries."

\-- [Conan O'Brien is appearing on a New Zealand soap opera](https://www.stuff.co.nz/culture/360511645/conan-obrien-guest-star-shortland-street?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)? As a surgeon? Fug Nationals from that part of the world, PLEASE watch Shortland Street on December 12 -- that's Thursday -- and report back!

\-- Hailee Steinfeld got engaged to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, which is delightful news, except that [his ex-girlfriend did not take it well](https://www.buzzfeed.com/larryfitzmaurice/josh-allen-ex-says-she-was-hacked-after-rude-comment?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Or, maybe she took it just fine, and her accounts were simply mysteriously HACKED. Sure. I did laugh when [Allen's teammate Dion Hawkins said that Josh played well last Sunday because he's engaged now](https://www.si.com/nfl/dion-dawkins-credits-josh-allen-engagement-hailee-steinfeld-bills-success?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Enjoy the jokes while they're here, Hailee; eventually the famous partners of athletes always get blamed for the bumps in the road.

\-- At the [*New Yorker*](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/12/09/the-new-business-of-breakups?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), "The New Business of Breakups: After getting dumped (by text), a writer investigates the feverish boom in heartbreak apps, breakup coaches, and get-over-him getaways." Who has the disposable income to pour into all this right now? I guess... rich New Yorkers?

\-- Oh Lordy, [Bill Lawrence is officially trying to reboot *Scrubs*](https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/scrubs-reboot-abc-bill-lawrence-1236236459/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). No one is attached yet and it's not even clear if he'll work on it himself, but that is not a show I'm nostalgic for; I find Zach Braff intolerable enough when he acts the overgrown imp in his T-Mobile ads. As Bill Lawrence pointed out in Bluesky, if we hate it, at least we can have fun complaining about it! But… while I don’t begrudge anyone jobs, Bill Lawrence did so well with original intellectual property like *Ted Lasso* and *Shrinking*! Let’s stay in the present!

\-- Here is "[A Brief History of Egg Nog](https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/26537/way-more-you-ever-wanted-know-about-eggnog?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)," courtesy of Mental Floss. Today I learned that George Washington put THREE kinds of booze in his? I guess he WAS outgunned, outmanned, outnumbered, outplanned; he probably had a LOT of bad-idea coping mechanisms.

\-- *The Hollywood Reporter* [ran a roundtable with female producers](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/gladiator-ii-challengers-producer-roundtable-1236075106/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and there's a pretty entertaining anecdote about Simon Rex and a prosthetic penis. Never let it be said that producing is all glamour.

\-- HuffPo did a piece on [the perceived mental health benefits of coloring](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/adult-coloring-brain-benefits%5Fl%5F674f5176e4b07209ad7416a3?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and that's not the first time I've heard this. Apparently there's a whole community for this on both TikTok and Reddit -- well, that's not entirely shocking; there's a community there for everything -- and they swap marker tips and book suggestions, and color along with people. I'm curious: Have any of you tried this, and do you think it's effective? Usually I turn to a puzzle or to my Switch when I really need to chill out, but am I overlooking something better?
