We've arrived at the weekend again, somehow! I hope yours contains all manner of delights. While we're here, [do you need a new weekend bag](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/fug-nation-loves-weekenders-07-2022/)? And speaking of bags, [we're talking about a weird stuff you've found in yours.](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-chat-whats-the-weirdest-thing-youve-found-in-your-purse-handbag-backpack-07-2022/)

The news about [Shinzo Abe's assassination is shocking and horrible](https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/07/08/world/japan-shinzo-abe-shooting?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). \[NYT\]

If you, like me, had a moment this past week where you realized you needed someone to explain to you [what was *happening* with Boris Johnson](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/boris-johnson-resignation-why-was-he-forced-to-resign/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), this CBS piece lays it all out. (Although my understanding, via my British Consultant \[my friend Eliza\] is that there are also more personalities/grudges at play and that it's karmically delicious because BoJo previously had a hand in similarly pushing out Theresa May.)

At the LA Times: [The last abortion clinic in Mississippi closes its doors](https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2022-07-07/the-last-abortion-clinic-in-mississippi-closes-its-doors?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

This is a really good piece: [The crack-of-dawn call to Larry Doby that changed baseball](https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/how-larry-doby-broke-color-barrier-in-american-league??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). \[MLB\]

At Tatler: [The hidden secrets of Wimbledon you’ll only discover from inside the gates](https://www.tatler.com/article/wimbledon-inside-the-gates-hidden-secrets?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)
