It's the weekend again THANK GOD. Here's some stuff to read:

This is a little old, but it seems very pertinent this week, and it's also really interesting. At The New Yorker: [What Calling Congress Achieves. ](https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/06/what-calling-congress-achieves?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) This week, I called my own senators about supporting Dianne Feinstein's Keep Families Together Act (technically, Feinstein IS my Senator, so I called her to say good job), and I encourage you to call yours whenever you have something you want to encourage them to support (or not support). Related: If you haven't been keeping track of the news that children are currently being separated from their parents at the US border, [the NY Times has a good explainer about it, and what you can do about it](https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/14/opinion/children-parents-asylum-immigration.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).

We wrote a piece for W [picking the hottest dudes in the World Cup.](https://www.wmagazine.com/story/world-cup-2018-hot-football-soccer-players??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) WHAT A TRIAL TO RESEARCH, let me tell you.

This is really interesting: [In sleep-deprived America, Ramadan offers an extra challenge for insomniacs](https://religionnews.com/2018/06/12/in-sleep-deprived-america-ramadan-offers-an-extra-challenge-for-insomniacs/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \[Religion News Service\]

At The Undefeated, [Samuel L. Jackson ranks his own acting roles](https://theundefeated.com/features/samuel-l-jackson-ranks-his-acting-roles/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).

Over at Lainey: [There are REAL CONCERNS about the state of the Beckhams' marriage](https://pubx.co/JFR5SN?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).

At The Atlantic: [The Next Plague Is Coming. Is America Ready?](https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/07/when-the-next-plague-hits/561734/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (Spoiler: PROBABLY NOT!!!!) (Having said that, this is a great article -- if terrifying. Fascinating, and beautifully done.)

At Celebitchy: GOD, [*One Tree Hill*'s Mark Schwahn is a nightmare.](https://www.celebitchy.com/581351/sophia%5Fbush%5Fmark%5Fschwahn%5Fgrabbed%5Fme%5Fthreatened%5Fto%5Ffire%5Fthe%5Fguy%5Fwho%5Fdefended%5Fme/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

Per the Smithsonian,[ there's a ghost town in California for sale!](https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/california-ghost-town-sale-180969322/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) Shall we all just move there?

Pajiba asks: [Which Actors Deserve a Career Renaissance?](https://www.pajiba.com/film%5Freviews/which-actors-deserve-a-career-renaissance.php?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

I chortled aloud at this, at Revelist: "[The Boohoo x Paris Hilton collection will range in price from $15 to $70, with designs reflective of Paris' 'favorite trends and fashion moments from the early Aughts](https://www.revelist.com/style-news/paris-hilton-boohoo/12867?utm%5Fsource=gofugyourself.com&utm%5Fmedium=cpm).'"

This was interesting, at the New York Times:[ The Serious Business of the Literary Party](https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/15/books/literary-parties-book-expo.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)
