Also Caligula, Consider Melissa Leo, remembering Jessica Walter, and a Covid-swab feud. - Author: Jessica - Tags: Fugs and Pieces, #wp, #wp-post, #Import 2026-10-07 08:15 I truly wish that I did not have to open this feature by referencing something terrible that happened in the previous week as often as I do. This week, of course, I am referring to [the awful mass shooting in Boulder](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/23/us/boulder-victims.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io); I don't know about you, but I'm at the end of my rope with this sort of thing. [I reached out to my senators to ask them to support stricter gun laws](https://act.everytown.org/sign/Senate%5Fbackground%5Fchecks%5F2021/?source=etno%5Fhp%5Fhero&refcode=etno%5Fhp%5Fhero&utm%5Fsource=etno%5Fhp%5Fhero&utm%5Fmedium=o&utm%5Fcampaign=hp%5Fhero). We just can't go on like this. Also, if you live in Georgia, Alabama, or Tennessee, I hope you and yours made it through [last night's terrifying tornadoes](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/25/us/tornadoes-southeast.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) okay. Anyway. Here's my pivot to other stuff: Jessica Walter -- a truly top-tier Jessica, perhaps the best of us -- died yesterday. [This is a great interview with her at The AV Club about a variety of her roles.](https://tv.avclub.com/jessica-walter-1798229967??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) Elle also had[ a great interview with her in 2019](https://www.elle.com/culture/a26431649/jessica-walter-arrested-development-interview/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).
