I actually think V. Hudg is adorable -- I caught Bandslam on cable over the weekend, and it is totally charming and she is charming in it -- but do you REALLY want to kick off the New Year wearing something that prompts, in a palatial estate far away, Britney Spears to sit up and think, "somewhere, someone's wearing something I want"? You do not.

Nor do you want to prompt a cranky old blogger in a far far far less palatial dwelling to sit up on her sofa and say, "hang on. Is she wearing acid washed overalls?"

Even if you ARE. Even if they're kind of smart as a bathing suit cover-up, as cover-ups go. Even if I appreciate the fact that her new look seems to be Shredded Hippie and not Skanky Dipshit. Which, trust me, I REALLY do. The world would be much better off if all the Skanky Dipshits would just put on some overalls.

This is actually quite cute. A palate cleanser, if you will. Fashion sorbet.

On the other hand, at least she looks happy with Austin Butler here. In fact, I'd wager she's the first woman in the world to look that pleased while at the same time sporting -- in public! -- what appear to be high-waisted denim briefs. The power of love, man. It IS a curious thing.
