Rita Ora

If you're going to make a statement like that, then it IS wise to wear glasses the size of camera lenses that make it difficult for the gruesomeness to come true.

Rita Ora

This lady apparently loves the wacky specs. I hope she has a punch card at whatever novelty store she found that sells these. She might get a free pair of goggles made out of lager cans, or something.

Rita Ora

In that dress she looks a bit like a barker for an ice-cream vendor -- like, she stands in the middle of the park and shimmies a little and when all the hungry and thirsty people decide they want to break off a piece of her creamsicle, she points them to a dude wearing a giant puffer coat who sells Cornettos out of his pockets for 50p cheaper than the man with the fancy cart.

I love it when people show up at the Elle style awards -- or the Glamour awards; it happens at both -- in something that suggests they equate "style" with "an incredibly expensive way to show off my panties." That sucker looks like it was woven from scraps of busby fur that dropped out of a guard's hat during the Changing at Windsor.

Rita Ora

Here, she looks like she's getting set to do a cheerleading routine about the dangers and warning symptoms of STDs.

Rita Ora

I am flat-out terrified of this. It reminds me of some hideous old Angelfire Web site from 1998 about Final Fantasy, or something.

Rita Ora

You've gotta love it when the cardigan and the skirt hit at almost the same place.

Rita Ora

I'm trying to figure out if this is one piece, or two, but... I'm feeling very sleepy suddenly... and then WHOA my eyes go out of focus and her clothes morph into a 3-D depiction of the Queen of Hearts cheating at croquet.

Rita Ora

Well, I love the purse, but shhh, I daren't say anything more; HER ARMPITS CAN HEAR ME.

Rita Ora

"What, this old thing? You think that looks like a $10 skirt? HA. Joke's on you! It was $2."

Rita Ora

This journey takes a terrible turn right around her ankles. Actually, I don't like the pants in general -- black leather, fitted to the ankle, would have been better with that shirt, I think -- but I REALLY hate the tailoring of the slacks and those icky platforms. Seriously, if your stripper shoes are BORING, you know you've erred.

Rita Ora

Rita has said Gwen Stefani is one of her idols, and with this, I can see it. Those shoes are crazy but also, God help me, kind of punky and fun with the white outfit (methinks Gwen would approve). And although the dress is terribly confusing to me -- like ineptly performed origami -- I am at least enjoying trying to figure it out.

Rita Ora

This is pretty on her -- not sure it needed the necklace, and yes, she is yet another starlet to be enticed by the toe-cap shoes. But at least she's trying to prove she can gown it up amid all her other calculated kookery.

Rita Ora

And she needed it, because OH MY GOD, this erases any goodwill I had built up toward her closet. It's like a snap-crotch sweater jumpsuit that got stretched in the wash. And the way she's clutching at it, she seems either afraid of flashing people (ergo, DON'T WEAR IT, kid), or like she's in desperate need of a restroom, in which case, I would hate to be the guy cleaning out her limo later.

Fugtroducing: Rita Ora
We've been turning up more and more pictures of heretofore unknown (to me) Rita Ora lately; I paid them little mind, assuming she was one of those Famous In England people who might never actually cross over here unless she inserted beach balls into her chest cavity (see: Price, Katie). But the other day, my husband's copy of Rolling Stone fell open to a page in which the magazine appeared to be trumpeting her as an up-and-coming ferocious lady musician (she's working with will.i.am. and Kanye on her album, which came out on Monday; she's an X-Factor judge in the UK; she has toured with Coldplay). So while we wait for that to take us by storm, I figured it might be time to get to know her other body of work -- you know, the one that's probably going to get her nominated for Fug Madness. Spoiler: Her style seems to be a hybrid of Gwen, Jessie J, Katy Perry, and a pinata. [Photos: Getty, Fame/Flynet, Splash]
