Hopefully this went well for Beanie Feldstein, but phew, reviews out of New York -- both professional and anecdotal -- have not been positive. I understand wanting to elevate the rest of the production as high as possible around your untested lead, but it's almost mean to put internationally beloved star Ramin Karimloo in a show singing with someone whose vocal chops appear to be more along the lines of "cherished in several American dinner theaters." At least it appears to be raking in the cash?
