The House of Gaultier has been rotating through creative directors -- intentionally; they call them "Guest Couturiers," and they include Simone Rocha, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and Olivier Rousteing -- and this is the work of a new one, Duran Lantink, an avant-garde Dutch designer. [Apparently the influence for this](https://wwd.com/runway/fall-couture-2026/paris/jean-paul-gaultier/review/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) was a combination of Marie Antoinette and [the costumes Gaultier created for Régine Chopinot](https://www.reginechopinot.net/en/actions/le-defile?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)['s "Le Défilé"](https://www.reginechopinot.net/en/actions/le-defile?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) in 1985, but it might actually be peyote.
