## The Women of RAICES: Lucia Allain, Mayra Jimenez, Andrea Meza, and Erika Andiol

I'm delighted to see this cause still getting attention, and I find myself wishing they'd made it a print cover instead of Charlize. I can see where they might've thought that looked too much like they were trying to be *Time*, or something, but still.

## Greta Thunberg

I like that they shot her very simply. It's direct, like Greta herself. They're not trying to glam her up or get artsy, have her jumping on a trampoline or riding an ice floe; she's simply daring you to look her in the eyes. What she's doing is impressive regardless, but doubly so to me given that she has Aspeger's. We're all told that Asperger's kids struggle with reading social cues and the like, but perhaps her ability to push out there and express herself so doggedly, so passionately, is in part because she might not naturally be that fixated on what society says she's supposed to be like. I mean, she's clearly AWARE of what people expect and don't from kids, but she also doesn't seem BOTHERED by it. I don't know. I'm curious and also find her inspiring on many levels.

## Megan Rapinoe

I love this shot. It's stronger and more evocative than [the one *Marie Claire* did with her](https://www.gofugyourself.com/marie-claires-25th-anniversary-covers-include-megan-rapinoe-and-lilly-singh-09-2019?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).

## Yara Shahidi

This honestly looks like a Gap ad. I'm not sure why they went that direction with her when the others are better portraiture.

## Charlize

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/WOTY-theron-1571946383.jpg)

She looks deeply wary at all times now. It's like her default expression. Perhaps that's also her default mood, I don't know. I feel you, Charlize. I'm wary, too. And weary.

## Margaret Atwood

This is striking, but I do also find myself wishing they'd gone full-face with hers.

## Ava DuVernay

And then this seems sort of uncomfortable. She looks like she's scratching her head and uneasy with the whole thing.

## Tory Burch

And THIS looks like a shot of herself she'd put on the About Me portion of her website.

[Glamour's Women of the Year Are...Spoiler: One of them is Greta Thunberg.![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2019/10/glamourwotycovers2019-1571946692.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/glamours-women-of-the-year-are-10-2019/)
