Global Citizen Festival 2023

... because by the time she headed out there, she was in tights. Or, I suppose, she went out there first and the tights got a run so she tore them off for the rest of the night. But I love the idea of her sprinting to Duane Reade for a great pair of emergency L'Eggs. Also, if they ever want to remake Superman II, they totally remind me of a hot and foxy General Zod brigade for a new generation.

Helena Gualinga, Nina Gualinga and Connie Britton

Helena and Nina are indigenous environmental activists from the Kichwa Sarayaku community in Ecuador. They look fabulous. Connie's face is like, "I KNOW, RIGHT?" She also looks fabulous. That COAT, Connie. I'm drooling.

Eddie Izzard, Jerome Foster II, and Xiye Bastida

Jerome there is an activist who sits on POTUS's Environmental Justice Advisory Council, and at 21 his Wikipedia page is already stuffed. He seems fascinating. Xiye is from the Indigenous Otomi community in Mexico, and co-founded an intersectional international climate organization, among tons of of her things. She's ALSO only 21. The children really are our future. I am grateful to have a president who actually gives a shit what they have to say. And finally, Eddie looks super in that dress.

Xiye, Helena, and Sophia Kianni

Here's a better look at a couple of those outfits. Sophia is an Iranian-American who is the youngest-ever UN advisor and founded an international youth-led non-profit called Climate Cardinals. They all put the adults who got this planet in this condition to shame, and good for them for that. They look splendid but I cannot get over Xiye's stunning dress.
