Jennifer covered "Where Peaceful Waters Flow" by Gladys Knight and the Pips. She's in Chicago here, and even though from this angle you can't REALLY see what's going on at street-level, the city still certainly FEELS chillingly empty in the shots.

Coldplay did this funky graphical thing, and dedicated the performance to -- and showed a picture of -- Elijah McClain, who was murdered by police in Colorado while on an errand to get an iced tea.

This was a physically distanced cover of "Freedom" by Beyonce. They shot this in Santa Clarita, which is a bit north of L.A., and the write-up I linked to in the main post points out that the song choice is especially poignant because "Beyoncé featured the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Eric Garner –– all three of whom were murdered by police –– in her video for the track."

This is at the Grand Palais on the Champs-Élysées. I usually see it in photos as the site of, say, a massive runway show. It's quite something to see it barren.

Her jumpsuit is appropriately dramatic; it looks like a flotation aid made by hitting a scrunchie with an embiggening ray.

Billy spoke about black activists of yore. I was hoping to find something about whether there is any symbolism in the flowers on his shirt -- not that there has to be, but I also wouldn't be SURPRISED if there were just because Billy is definitely someone who is fluent in communicating through fashion.

He sang a new song, "I Cry," which he said was inspired by the recent Black Lives Matter marches. It's quite cool to see all of what the production managed under restrictions.

This reminds me of when I went to see "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime." Having said that, Chloe x Halle are Beyonce proteges and so I am not at all surprised to see them deploy some showmanship.

Oh, Charlize, I know it's so far from the point but I wish you'd stood up and given us a twirl. What are you wearing? I would laugh if she's starkers and it's JUST a blazer. (Her head looks great.)

Many folks from Hamilton performed with The Roots, some of them using "found" instruments (the gent in the bottom right corner is playing a rubber band). There is a lot of good hair and lipstick in this shot, also, and Okieriete Onaodowan is wearing a Kaepernick tee under his sport coat.
