I thought it'd be fun to start with someone we haven't seen in a while! She looks so good. The color, the necklace, the fabric, all of it.

The workmanship in that skirt is incredible. She loves a fishtail, but this one stands out.

This is another one that's texturally really good. Also I was happy to rediscover her on the site looking so nice, as I just watched her in Superman & Lois. (It was good but I hope they let her do more than be stressed out.)

Sequins into feathers maybe shouldn't work... but it really, really does.

I'm a sucker for green.

Who knew she had it in her?

This is also memorable because if memory serves, being two-tone makes it the closest to a pattern she's ever worn.

This was an up-and-down dress for me. I love the work on the top, but I think the bottom needed to lay off the details.

SURPRISE. I will never forget the noise I made when I saw this for the first time. An outfit that makes me exclaim aloud when I'm alone is TRULY something, and this monstrous loincloth did the job.

Fug Nation voted her best-dressed this year.

This is also quite fab.

Jump to 2013, though, and she's got some serious crazy-eyes, which I interpret as a silent message to all the bloggers that she knows exactly what we're doing to kvetch about and she, too, isn't sure why this midsection is happening.

This is one of the more dramatic Globes offerings. I really like it, but I understand why some people didn't.

This just looks like a smeary mess.

It is always a problem when you have to cover your own crotch in order to move safely.

Gorgeous.

This is a complete mess. One of her boobs looks like it's oozing out of place. At the time, someone pointed out that this is the kind of dress we would laugh out of town on anyone but Halle, and I agree that her powers are admirable, but: I'm still laughing it out of town.

But WHY.

One of her best.

I have always remembered this one -- the hit of neon, and her choice to match the shoes to it, were such a happy surprise.

This is a great dress, but she gets an A+ for the purse and shoes with it.

Another unforgettable one.

Rogaine is a heck of a drug.

I miss her on red carpets.

I ALSO miss her on red carpets, but for different reasons. This is explosively wacky, like she's conducting a rescue operation for a set of sheets.

I get where she thought she was going with this, but there are too many little missteps.

This is one massive misstep. I don't think there's a RIGHT part of it.

This also has too much going on. It's like a walking gender reveal party and in half an hour it's going to go blue or pink.

I had totally forgotten this, and it's really unusual and great.

Very sexy.

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you a dispatch from a gaping chasm of sartorial doom.

What can I even say?

Why is this belt there? WHY. I mean, presumably to do belt things, but it is EMPHATICALLY the wrong belt.

This is all great, but the purse is really making my heart flutter.

This is easily one of her best.

I'm sure at the time I kvethched about the pants and train, but let's be honest, it's pretty chic.

Nope. The fit is catastrophic. Is this her way of trying to counterbalance the pink dress in which she won for Shakespeare In Love, which was baggy?

That's fabulous.

That is... not.

Custom Vera Wang, and it fits like she just opened two maxi pads and strung them together with dental floss.

Fab dress, and since it's Uzo, we can assume the shoes also rule.

All hail.

That is more shiny pink tassel activity than anyone needs.

One of my all-time favorites.

This is also easily one of her best. It's SO GOOD. The color, the fit. Eat your heart out, Jason Sudeikis.

Striking as hell, and beautifully fit.

The deep vee was polarizing, but I love the pattern. To me it's dreamy.

She made a big deal about how she'd hired a new stylist to turn her into a more serious fashion person, and all that did was turn her into a precursor to Kacey Musgraves, except with everything too tight. I'm glad Katy has leaned back into her wacky side.

This is McQueen, I think? I assume it's MEANT to look like a tsunami?

This was her winning year, and she picked the right dress for it.

Dipped in FLAME. I love it.

This is one of the top most unsettling optical illusions ever. That bodice should be BURNED.

Louis Vuitton, YOU ARE THE WORST.

She is so good at this.

She... is so mixed at this. Why are her sleeves rebelling? Why are they there in the first place? JUST WHY.

She made a late charge and very nearly won best-dressed this year...

... but Viola edged her out, and I'm not complaining.
