I just sincerely believe that nobody thought about how much of her would be visible in any given frame. This is BANANAS. I said she looked like Diana + RBG, but this is a Supreme Court INjustice. [Zing.]

I am not sure anyone knows yet what happened to Sarah Paulson's arm, but Prada put her in a custom purple sequin cast cover, and it's amazing. Best accessory of the night, except for the fact that she had to break a bone to make it possible. That part is a downer.

Olivia appears to be stuck in the same empty white void that has taken John Oliver. I like the snazzy pantsuit. I believe the blazer is this one and I wish she'd worn the matching pants.

Jodie Comer didn't participate -- maybe she's in a thankless time zone? -- and because of that, it looks like everyone else is thrilled for Emma and Jodie is UNMOVED. When in reality I'm sure she's very pleased.

Well, look, I don't get this show as a comedy -- I think the were desperate for nominees in that division -- but I'm very sad that Kaley looks the best EVER and didn't get to do it on a red carpet. The dress is beautiful on her. The hair might be a trifle informal with it, but hey, on balance and based on history, this is a home run for Kaley.

I love Jane -- inexplicably, I forgot to DVR the second season of Zoey, but I adored season one -- and wanted to feel as passionately about this. The color is perfect (and I love that she must still be in Vancouver shooting; it was rainy here today) but the design looks like she tugged a crocheted blanket around her.

Poor Lily has become one of the poster children for how bogus the Globes are. We've always known it, and Emily in Paris was just this year's punching bag; I felt for her when Tina dragged the show and the directors cut to her smiling politely and trying to be a good sport. She has to be relieved she didn't win, which is a cruddy position to be in on a night like this (though it was not her first; they nominated her in 2017 for something called Rules Don't Apply, which... did ANYONE remember that? I did NOT). No, Emily in Paris is not good, YES I appreciated that Tina and Amy refused to pronounce it "Emily in Parieeeeeeeee," and yes, Lily, I hope you laugh all the way to the bank when Netflix keeps renewing it.

Christian Slater is getting a lot of face time here. Catherine looked marvelous. She and her husband attempted a gag where he cued up the music on his phone that would have accompanied her journey to the podium, and then pretended to play her off, but I don't think it really worked on Zoom. A+ for effort, C for execution, which isn't really their fault. Zoom isn't great for whimsy.

He won for being Ted Lasso, which is predictable -- the Globes loves a newcomer show AND an SNL vet, as evidenced by Brooklyn 99 winning -- and I'm not mad at it. He looked wacky, but he's shooting over in the UK right now and absolutely looks like a man who is up at 2 a.m. on a Monday morning with an early call time, not having slept a ton over the weekend, and also in the midst of script notes. I have sympathy, is what I'm saying. But dude. Maybe a sweater? Ted Lasso himself dresses better. Just go in character.

Those pants were made to be worn standing, I guess (they seem to ride up a lot?). Full confession, I like the beanie. It looks soft. Maybe Sudeikis just needed one of those.

Sudeikis ALSO seemed like he was crashing from all the Red Bull he mainlined to stay awake, or... something. I thought his speech was going to be a hot mess, but he collected himself and delivered something good and generous to his castmates.

This is a delight to me. Bob looks like he's at the bar on his yacht.

Josh and Emma used the same stylist, who is ALSO I believe Harry Styles' stylist, and I absolutely have decided that Harry S. helped Harry Lambert pick out all of these things and co-signed them. Josh and Emma also have the same black-and-white vibe with large white neck features. And yet together, despite those commonalities, they would have clashed. Much like Chuck and Di. OHO.

Jason Bateman's kids are cute; it must be fun for everyone to get to do this with their families. Matthew Rhys looks like he's ready to light a tobacco pipe by the fire and film some PBS segments. Al Pacino looks like someone who was cast in a movie about Al Pacino's secret life as the president of his own lightly corrupt island.

ME TOO KALEY.
