## Shailene Woodley

Apart from the bodice needing to be yanked up a few inches, this gown is very pretty and very delicate... and totally blended in with the surroundings on this night. I kept forgetting Shailene was even there, and she was a freaking NOMINEE. She could've gotten away with something cooler, a bit edgier -- something like Claire Danes' dress, or Zooey Deschanel's. This feels a little too safe and unmemorable.

So of course she changed for the afterparty into something even less memorable. And it's so HEAVY. And it's not really that much shorter, which is usually the reason to change: either you have a train that might get ruined at a post-party, or it's too intricate to tromp around town in, or you can't breathe. Her other dress didn't seem to fit into any of those categories, so I can only think of one last impetus for the costume change...

She wanted something that would match her creepy glove-sneakers. ... !!! I guess it was sort of endearing when Hailee Steinfeld changed into her Converse for last year's parties, but Converse are way less creepy than these things. I guess the good news for her is, this means she and [Thomas Jane](https://gofugyourself.com/fug%5For%5Ffine%5Fthomas%5Fjane062810-06-2010?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) finally have a lot to talk about; then again, maybe that's also the bad news.

I like this, though. Very retro print. Point for the newbie.

Oooh ... Hmm. The pattern looks like a reflection on a swimming pool, all blurry and shimmery and slightly hallucinatory. The last time I spent Happy Hour at a swim-up bar, I'm pretty sure this is what it all looked like to me after that hour stretched into two, and three. The collar flaps might be a bit much, but overall I kind of like this, especially with the fun shoes. THIS is the kind of thing a kid her age can pull off at these sorts of events.

I wonder what this would've been like, floor-length, at the Globes. Very Michelle Williams, I think but without her signature terrified aura.

Whoa, and this is kind of bombshell -- if she'd worn THIS at the Globes, but in a color, I think it might've been fantastic. Or maybe not -- but there were a lot of directions she could've gone in, and I just wish she'd gone with one that didn't have me stressed out about her bodice falling down in the middle of talking to Ryan Seacrest.

[Golden Globes Feh Carpet and Afterparty/Weekend Omnibus: Shailene WoodleyShailene had been doing pretty well in the runup to the Globes. She picked a bad night to stumble into a puddle of yawn. Maybe that's why she changed into those nutty shoes at the afterparty: wet feet. \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2012/01/shailenewoodley137124127.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/golden-globes-feh-carpet-and-afterpartyweekend-omnibus-shailene-woodley-01-2012/)
