I did some whinging about this on NY Mag today as well, but why do people keep trying to reinvent the wheel? The DRESS as a concept is seriously great: it's comfortable, it's easy to wear, it's flattering. It's a classic, and it has endless variations on a theme that are successful. We don't NEED to branch out into this apron/pants hybrid. The dress is like the wheel or the BLT or the Post-It: perfect, just as it is.
I mean, I appreciate that she's trying something new, I like that she's rarely boring, and I dig the shoes but also, let's get real: this shit's an apron.
And, weirdly, she changed for the post-party. The one thing I'd say for the pants/apron combo is, at least it looked COMFORTABLE. Maybe she got tired of constantly feeling that draft.
