Katy was the only person in Prada at the Globes ceremony -- there was one other Miu Miu, but that's it for Mrs. P -- and I can't imagine this was the truly the lone thing that brand wanted people to see. While the color is nice on her, nothing about the fit works. It's fighting her figure at every turn, which is a shame because she has a great one. But the effect is as if she grabbed it off the rack in the only size left, and was just happy it didn't rip when she practiced sitting. It is a Settling dress. The one you use when you don't have any better options so you're willing to live with it for six hours and tease up your hair and hope no one looks below your neck.

This was the part that really screamed "Zooey" to me. More of a yelp, though, really.

Katy told Jennifer Lawrence that she had a Bump It making her hair huge. I also felt a LITTLE bad for her. She was leaving Seacrest as Jennifer was arriving, and Jennifer took one look at this hair and was like, "WHOA, I'd hate to be at a play behind that," or something, and I think Katy brought up the Bump It kind of self-consciously. Jennifer is CORRECT -- that is some HUGE HAIR and the whole thing makes Katy look older than she is -- but I feel like, say that privately to David O. Russell after you are off-camera.

Apparently Katy switched to Leslie Fremar (stylist to Julianne Moore, Reese Witherpoon, Charlize) for this night, the implication being she's aiming for more sophistication and simplicity, and Fremar told People Stylewatch that she only had a week to pull this together. I'm intrigued by the switch, but I wish she'd had more time. Because I keep feeling like this entire look was only made available because Zooey Deschanel stayed home. [Photos: Getty]
