I wasn't sure about this at all -- it's got lovely ideas, but is it too tight? Does it even matter? And am I crazy for sometimes wishing the flash of purple was not someone else's skirt, but in fact a weird kind of lining or something on this one?
Jess's description of this as "like every woman in the fifth hour of a party' is so apt. I also want to point out that even if this IS too tight, the fact that Emma Thompson is a Woman Of A Certain Age who can pull OFF a dress that tight is to her fabulous credit. I love her. I would love to crawl inside her brain.
Oh, dear. I spy a bra. Then again: at least she's wearing one. Then again she is a delight. I said to Jess that she reminds me of Hillary Clinton with that hair and that she should play her in something, and then I remembered she already DID -- essentially -- in "Primary Colors."
Earlier in the weekend, this happened. Do you not want to be the meat in this sandwich? You do. Come join me. There's room for more than one kind of meat. I can be salami. Any takers on ham? Turkey? We could also do with some cheese.
And then THIS happened and everyone's hearts grew three sizes that day.
I am not confident in what she was WEARING during the aforementioned hugs, though. Mostly the shoes. Perhaps entirely the shoes.
I am not sure about ANYTHING happening here between her pants and her shoes, and her right sleeve is confusing to me, and I love her more than any of this so I wish we could have a do-over. But at least she seems to have had a fun weekend, and made it fun for others, and gets to go home and snog Willoughby at night. I will never get tired of talking about that.
