She almost looks like she's EMERGING from the background. Or that she's its overlord.

This dress has a lot going on -- I mean, that's so much sparkle, so much shimmer, SO much texture. I wish it had been left alone without the filmy cape. It looks like an accident -- the sartorial equivalent of walking around with toilet paper on your shoe.

See? The back even has a cutout. It does not need a giant Kleenex.

I do have to applaud her for trying to WORK the cape, as if it belongs there. Unfortunately, stretching it out just makes it look cheaper, especially in comparison to the work that went into that frock. I hope someone at the parties just snuck up behind her and sawed it off with a butter knife.

She looked really nice at TCAs this weekend, too. Because of course TCAs needed to be this weekend. Actually, they might've figured it was a good time because everyone is in town, but... come on. Stop overscheduling awards weekends. PEOPLE NEED TO CLEANSE.
