Cate Blanchett

At times I think she looks enveloped by this. Swallowed. Perhaps if it were a color, it would seem less predatory to her? But then if it were a color it might look garish. So were back to nude or black, and black is probably the right choice between those two. I WILL say that it doesn't feel interesting enough to be tugging me in all these directions. I would rather chew on something else.

In close-up, I am less inclined to give her Carte Blanchett. It's less like funky algae than a regal ode to rot. But at least she's wearing lippy and is Cate Blanchett.

THIS Michael Kors is not treating her very well. It's all boob shine. She's flashing us, in a sense.

And her shoes just look like she stepped in something. They're high-fashion Pigpen.

Golden Globes Weekend Fugs and Fabs: Cate Blanchett
Sometimes I think this looks like predatory algae; other times, I think it's groovy on her. Carte Blanchett strikes again, the cunning sorceress. The one thing I can say about it for sure: This is what Marchesa THINKS it's doing, but isn't. [Photos: Getty]
