Saoirse Ronan in Saint Laurent

This is lovely. It's simple, and uncomplicated.

Saoirse Ronan in YSL

This, of course, isn't her first rodeo -- she was, after all, Oscar-nominated for Atonement -- but the Grecian goddess thing feels very right for her first major awards show as an adult nominee.

I would not have gone for those shoes with this, but at least they're not boring.

This is a jumpsuit. But I kind of like it. Can I live?

Golden Globes Well Played: Saoirse Ronan in Saint Laurent
I saw Brooklyn over the weekend, and I kept thinking of what one of you said here about it: It totally is a lovely movie that you can bring your grandma to, and Saoirse Ronan is wonderful in it. The entire film rests on long shots of subtle emotion playing across her face, and she is just exceptionally natural and great. I came away from it thinking that, truly, she could carry basically anything you threw at her as an actress. (We do need to talk about the fact that her American love interest was played by the guy who was also Carpet, Debra Messing's son on Smash, and that Domhnall Gleason is in EVERYTHING this year; if I have any notes about the movie, it's that I think the love triangle didn't feel fully fleshed out, but that's a minor note. It really is good.) [Photos: Fame/Flynet, Getty]
