Joanne Froggatt in Marchesa

While I really do love this dress on her, I also seriously love that we've got the Ernst and Young dude, all seriously transporting the ballots behind her. My own father is a CPA and when I was a kid, I really wanted him to go work for The Accounting Firm of Ernst and Young so he could go to the Oscars with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. He, for some reason, did not uproot his entire career path to do this for me....???

Anna and Branson!

This is a nice look at the detailing on her dress -- it's always such a relief when Marchesa dials back the crazy to a level where it's just tactile-y fab and not ALL UP IN YOUR FACE -- and also a nice look at Branson in his blue tux. Don't tell Bates about this assignation. We don't want him to want to murder.

All that being said, I have to admit that I was delighted when Joanne won, and both Heather and I teared up at her acceptance speech. Joanne Froggatt, you are a peach.

Laura Carmichael

POOR EDITH.

Not really. I just couldn't resist. I actually think this is attractive on her, EXCEPT Heather pointed out to me that the silver detailing on her flank and the way she's holding her hand makes it look like she's carrying a giant pair of scissors and I worry that it will all end in bloodshed. Or the ceremonial opening of a new youth center. Either.
