(Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) Strong start here for Taraji -- that's sculptural and tremendous. ## Margot Robbie in Celine ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1913167226-1704860310.jpg) TOPSHOT - Australian actress Margot Robbie arrives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on January 9, 2024\. (Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) She's dressed as "Taking a Break From Being Barbie" Barbie, circa 2024\. Celine is a good pairing for her; she looks super. ## Emily Blunt in Miu Miu ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921111655-1704860536.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: Emily Blunt attends the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Emma McIntyre/WireImage) I wonder if... Miu Miu just did the base dresss, because her stylist Jessica Paster also tagged Tiffany and that ENORMOUS partial ribcage definitely looks like maybe they had it delivered in a very large blue box. But if you're going with the world's most elaborate bejeweled underwire, maybe the hair and makeup should be DRAMATIC. Smoky eye, or berry lip. There's dissonance here. ## Fantasia Barrino in custom Ronny Kobo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921110594-1704861377.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: Fantasia Barrino attends the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) Well, this has D&G beaten, for SURE. ## Natalie Portman in Schiaparelli ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1913167473-1704860269.jpg) TOPSHOT - US-Israeli actress Natalie Portman arrives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on January 9, 2024\. (Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) That is FAB. As much as I enjoy her glittery Diors, it's fun to see her pivot to something so slinky and sexy. Schiaparelli is unexpected for her, even though this is one of the more sedate ones. Maybe she should tip FURTHER into their madness. ## Greta Gerwig in Dior ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921099811-1704860602.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: Greta Gerwig attends the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Emma McIntyre/WireImage) He really very much enjoys unbuttoning his shirt. Not that I'm mad about it. ## John Mulaney and Olivia Munn in Maticevski ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921042314-1704860188.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: (L-R) John Mulaney and Olivia Munn attend the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) She attended the Creative Arts Emmys with him, but didn't walk the red carpet, so I THINK this is their official debut? Her head looks perfect; her dress, like they took expensive bedding and shoved it into a backpack for three days. Also, their son is the MOST adorable little noodle. ## Cailee Spaeny in Miu Miu ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921055401-1704860201.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: Cailee Spaeny attends the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images) This is fine, but I am so bored with Miu Miu for her. ## Lily Gladstone (in Huishan Zhang) and Leo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1921111870-1704860550.jpg) HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 09: (L-R) Lily Gladstone and Leonardo DiCaprio attend the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom on January 09, 2024 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Michael Buckner/Variety via Getty Images) I LOVE that she went vintage for this -- it's simple, it's gorgeous, and this basic style did NOT need to be custom-made again when this version was already out there. Everyone wins. ## Tracee Ellis Ross in Christopher John Rogers ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1913167873-1704860256.jpg) US actress Tracee Ellis Ross arrives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on January 9, 2024\. (Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) Someone asked why we didn't make a "Brenda and Kelly at the spring dance" crack about [Reese's dress from the Globes](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/golden-globes-2024-folks-wearing-black/81st-golden-globe-awards-arrivals-31?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), but a) that one is pink, and b) how GLAD I am that we did not, because we can say it HERE. This is like that dress crossed with a napkin swan. To be clear, somehow, that is not an insult. ## Emerald Fennell in Jenny Packham ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1913167280-1704860324.jpg) English actress and filmmaker Emerald Fennell arrives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on January 9, 2024\. (Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) Somehow, the whole of this image is greater than the sum of its parts. ## Charles Melton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2024/01/GettyImages-1913166577-1704860391.jpg) US actor Charles Melton arrives for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 14th Annual Governors Awards at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles on January 9, 2024\. (Photo by VALERIE MACON / AFP) (Photo by VALERIE MACON/AFP via Getty Images) He was discovered by Alexander Payne specifically FOR The Holdovers -- possibly at the school where they filmed it? -- so he's totally new to this whole dog-and-pony-show and that's probably very intimidating. He looks nice. I wonder if, going through life this tall, you catch yourself leaning or ducking by default. [The Governors Awards: A Whole Passel of Non-Boring Black and White OutfitsFor real!
