'I've got this award in the bag,' I said, and what did my stylist do? Send me to an award IN a bag." ## Lili Reinhart in Oscar de la Renta ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457944df-1572239332.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457944df) Lili Reinhart arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is elegant in the extreme. ## Renee Elise Goldsberry in Carolina Herrera ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674md-1572239418.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674md) Renee Elise Goldsberry Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 GORGEOUS. It's so good, y'all. WORK, Angelica. ## Constance Wu ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457944bq-1572239323.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457944bq) Constance Wu arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This needs an unfugging. Take off the peplum and, I think, either take it up or give it a proper train so it doesn't just tent on the floor. I think I'd stop the bodice at her true waist, also. Of course, once we do all that, she might look like a bridesmaid, but then again, she IS the bridesmaid to J.Lo's *Hustlers* bride, so I guss that's apt. ## Florence Pugh in Valentino ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456675dp-1572239400.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Michael Buckner/Variety/Shutterstock (10456675dp) Florence Pugh Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is a LOT of fancy origami on our new Amy March. She's carrying it off surprisingly well; another win for Ladies Who Are Making So-So Clothes Look Better. ## Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Erdem ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952fr-1572239251.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952fr) Gugu Mbatha-Raw poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 Hmm. I might've liked this if it stayed smooth all the way down? It's a clear case for me of the wearer elevating what's worn. ## Isabella Rossellini ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952gb-1572239229.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952gb) Isabella Rossellini poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 I imagine her and Helen Mirren being on a WhatsApp chain where they taunt each other. "YOUR MOVE DAME HELEN," Isabella has just texted. ## Olivia Wilde in Ralph Lauren ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940am-1572242787.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940am) Olivia Wilde arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is slinky and super, but problematically, for me it evokes [a much better version by Michael Kors that she once wore to the Golden Globes](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/golden-globes-mostly-well-played-olivia-wilde-in-michael-kors-01-2016/). (And then [another, redder Kors](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/many-ladies-wore-red-to-the-tonys/2017-tony-awards-arrivals-15?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) from the Tonys.) Although her HAIR here is much better, so can we mix and match, retroactively? ## Keke Palmer in Christian Siriano ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940k-1572239348.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940k) Keke Palmer arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is pleasingly dramatic, but doesn't it almost look... slightly too big on her? [It looked crisper on the runway](../photos/christian-siriano-fw-2019/infoimaxtree-com-11889), and I liked it with the weird metallic turtleneck, too (unexpectedly). ## Greta Gerwig in Lela Rose ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952cw-1572239279.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952cw) Greta Gerwig poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 I am whelmed. ## Cynthia Erivo in Valentino ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674ir-1572239434.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674ir) Cynthia Erivo Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 I wonder if the shock on her face is because this doesn't look quite as planned. I like it, theoretically. Gorgeous color, flowy Charismatic Cult Leader cut... but it's a little bunchy on the sleeves, and it just kinda hangs there... it's good, but it could have been awesome. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457944ef-1572239307.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457944ef) Cynthia Erivo arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 I mean, it's a good try, but it doesn't fix the fact that the sleeves are clearly too long. ## Lupita Nyong'o in Givenchy ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952by-1572239300.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952by) Lupita Nyong'o poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 That is a pretty dress, and the bangs are REALLY REALLY undermining her face. I am not anti-bangs, but I am a) resistant to change, and b) a big believer in every bang having the right context, and Lupita doesn't need 'em. ## Thomasin McKenzie in Rodarte ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940br-1572239387.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940br) Thomasin McKenzie arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 Y'all know I want to tweak that big froofy bottom portion but Thomasin is not coming quietly into the red-carpet world and I appreciate that. ## Sasha Alexander in Vitor Zerbinato ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952gc-1572239221.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952gc) Sasha Alexander poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 Simple and pretty, but... ## Awkwafina in J. Mendel ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952de-1572239265.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952de) Awkwafina poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 ... THIS is the zazzy version, and I love it. ## America Ferrera in Sachin & Babi ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940cj-1572239379.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940cj) America Ferrera arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 She looks wonderful, and that LIPSTICK. YES. I can't decide if I love that hem length on her, but I like the rest so much that I'm just going to chill the hell out. ## Regina King in Ralph & Russo ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952eb-1572239272.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952eb) Regina King poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is a surprisingly strong slideshow, right? Or am I just deeper in my cups than I realized? ## Scarlett Johansson in Celine ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952dc-1572239258.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952dc) Scarlett Johansson poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 There is also a wide swath of designers present. Celine always feels unexpected and rare. I don't love the abdominal poofing in this skirt design, but the gold top is nifty? Scarlett's makeup artist is REALLY into the aggressive liner right now, also. ## Dakota Johnson in Brandon Maxwell ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940ch-1572239370.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940ch) Dakota Johnson arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This works well on her, but also, you can't deny that the bodice appears to be one of those antiviral masks. ## Charlize Theron in Tom Ford ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952cu-1572239288.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952cu) Charlize Theron poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 No sooner did I praise this slideshow than this rolled along. It's the sloppiest thing Tom Ford has done in... well, in MY memory, at least. It's ghastly. ## Chrissy Metz ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457952fv-1572239236.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by NINA PROMMER/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (10457952fv) Chrissy Metz poses on the red carpet prior the 11th Annual Governors Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California, USA, 27 October 2019\. 11th Annual Governors Awards - Arrivals, Hollywood, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is... fine. But doesn't feel nearly as formal as everyone else's. ## Geena Davis in Romona Keveza ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457944ae-1572239356.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457944ae) Geena Davis arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 Very nice! I hope she wears an homage to her sheer dress at the Oscars. (Note: I do not sincerely hope this.)(OR DO I.) ## Idina Menzel ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674hj-1572239444.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674hj) Idina Menzel Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 "Sorry about your husband... because just before he died, he signed away all his shares in the company TO ME. It's a fashion sorbet, cleansing her palate for something wacky later. ## Alfre Woodard ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674la-1572239425.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674la) Alfre Woodard Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 I can't actually tell if that's secret pants or not, but regardless, it's comfortingly competent. ## Nia Long ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457940cx-1572239340.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457940cx) Nia Long arrives at the Governors Awards, at the Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles 2019 Governors Awards - Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 Those earrings are IT. ## Sophia Loren ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674pf-1572239409.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674pf) Sophia Loren Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 What a goddess. ## Renee Zellweger ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10456674gu-1572239452.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Rob Latour/Shutterstock (10456674gu) Renee Zellweger Governors Awards, Arrivals, Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA - 27 Oct 2019 This is... fine, sort of heavy-looking, ultimtely unmemorable. ## Kaitlyn Dever (in Alberta Ferretti) and Beanie Feldstein (in Michael Kors) ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2019/10/shutterstock_editorial_10457944bh-1572239315.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP/Shutterstock (10457944bh) Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein.
