This is just phenomenal; an Impressionist fantasy. It's like Monet and Van Gogh mixed together. It's art. I love it.

Here you can just see it a bit closer. The angle of the design gives it so much extra grace and illusion of movement.

This is credited to "Kusi Kubi for PALMWINE IceCREAM," caps theirs. It was custom-made in Ghana. It's... okay? I'm not blown away by the creativity on a night designed to honor it. She could wear SO MUCH; she's one I kind of wish would pair up with Law or Jason Rembert, or Wayman + Micah.

Erykah Badu in Marni

Of course, in terms of creativity, be careful what you wish for... this is ALSO Marni. The coat is actually pretty great. The hat and the bag are hilarious, and certainly inventive, and very Erykah; all together, she looks like someone read The Cat in the Hat while on peyote. And something about seeing it in this hallway, instead of on the red carpet makes it even funnier.

Marni must have sponsored this. Her dress looks hand-scribbled in the vein of Erykah's hat. The dress itself is intentionally messily assembled, I think, with the chunky raw seams, but the design is funky and it works on her. She kinda reminds me of Lizzy Caplan in this photo.
