This is great and fun on her -- she loves a wild suit, and Christian delivered. I would always be tempted to do a contrasting underside of the hat brim, or sparkly, or just textured in a way the rest of the suit is not? But I also don't know jack about hats, so maybe that's a terrible idea.

Halsey in Pressiat

The two tones of this outfit don't quite shine in a photo. (I can't tell if it's brown or burgundy, and it took me a second to notice it all. Maybe it's ME.) They look good, though. I had placed the bar all the way down at "Is it a real garment?" and it clears that handily. But they are slaying it with the hat.

I was all set for the back to have interesting details, since they posed to show it off, but... it seems just to be a collection of zippers? It's messy.

But that is perfect.

Justin Bieber in custom Balenciaga

... The hat is basically the only good thing about this, and it's just a toque. Supposedly, this is custom, which means he and Karla Welch actually wanted it to look like this, for reasons that will perplex me until the end of my days.

Seriously, it's as bonkers as if someone took his measurements in centimeters but then reported them as inches. (I mean, he's Canadian. Maybe he feels REALLY strongly that everyone should use metric.) I've invoked the end of "Big" a lot lately but this might be the most apt comparison of all. He looks like a little boy in his father's suit, if his father is also Larry Bird.

This stance doesn't help either. In a a slang dictionary entry for "This isn't it," you would, ironically, see that this photo IS it.

Joni Mitchell

Joni's hat is the perfect capper to her colorful outfit. And her head styling also makes me think of Debbie Harry, who I think would wear both the hat and the glasses. Badass legends, both.

Joni got an honorary Grammy, obviously well-deserved. (It's not HER fault that whenever I see her, I think of Emma Thompson being sad.)

Alisha Gaddis

That dress is not the best, but I have to applaud her for wearing that, AND not drawing any accidental blood with it.

She could repurpose it for Christmas by hanging ornaments on it.

Emonee Larussa

This is just like a subtle little halo. Thank you to the rest of this slideshow that a halo feels almost like a small afterthought. (She looks great, and I would have given her a metallic shoe.)

These two perform as the Chattahoochies, it seems (there is a third woman who doesn't seem to have been there). It kind of answers my question about a sparkly underside to the brim -- I give it a hearty YEA -- but I'm going to pass on the hotpants.

He is obviously the chairperson of the Conclave of Morgans. Jessica gets to go to all the fun events. There is no Conclave of... my last name. Except I guess every corporate boardroom ever. I'm going to pass on THAT invitation.

Okay, fine, that's not a hat. It's also more than a mask, as it is the character's entire head. His face is his hat.

This is a Colombian band, and the Wikipedia page says their music is "electro tropical psychedelic cumbia," the latter being a native folkloric genre. If you aren't sure whether you've heard them, "Soy Yo" is their most famous song and you will hear the opening notes and almost certainly recognize it from a variety of places (a GrubHub commercial, to name one). ANYWAY. I don't know the provenance of the masks, but they are ELABORATE. Close-up next.
