As usual, some of these early photos are undated, so we just have to assume this is close to the beginning. He looks like a hot priest who isn't sure whether to admit you to his university.

Harrison Ford

I imagine this to be a professional headshot that he submitted for game-show hosting gigs.

On the set of A Time for Killing (1967)

American actor Harrison Ford on the set of A Time for Killing based on the novel by Nelson Wolford and Shirley Wolford, and directed by Phil Karlson. (Photo by Sunset Boulevard/Corbis via Getty Images)

This is for a Roger Corman movie, and this INCREDIBLE non-compliment is from Wikipedia: 'The New York Times said it was full of "military stereotypes" but that it was written with "professional skill."' It appears to be a movie in which Harrison plays a Confederate soldier who escapes from a Union prison and heads to Mexico, and it SOUNDS like ... his group are meant to be the heroes?!? I think not, Roger. (It's based on a book.)

This is: Don Stroud, Michael Sarrazin, Jan-Michael Vincent, James Caan, Paul Peterson, Michael Burns, Harrison Ford. And the movie is ANOTHER one in which they're confederate soldiers?!? TV Guide called it "too talky." I call it "nope."

American Graffiti - 1973

Well, look. This hat is not Harrison's best look. But there will be an iconic great hat to come.

1977

Look at this man. He's a SMUGGLER in SNUG PANTS. OF COURSE HE SHOT FIRST.

Harrison Ford and Mary Marquardt, 1977

This is Harrison with his first wife, whom he married in 1964 and divorced in 1979. And that's George Lucas behind them.

CANADA - JUNE 23: Harrison Ford: Rocketing into roles (Photo by Reg Innell/Toronto Star via Getty Images)

I also don't have a year on this one, but it was captioned "Harrison Ford: Rocketing Into Roles," so I assume it is post-Star Wars. That is some early Han hair.

On the set of Hanover Street - 1979

American actor Harrison Ford and Canadian Christopher Plummer on the set of written and directed by Peter Hyams. (Photo by Sunset Boulevard/Corbis via Getty Images)

This is a WWII movie in which Harrison sort of ends up in a love triangle with Christopher Plummer and Lesley-Anne Down. These are two extremely handsome dudes.

On the set of The Frisco Kid - 1979

This hat is not great, but could be worse on him. But, again, greener hat pastures await. Trust.

This is from Empire Strikes Back, and is a photo of the one true pairing.

This cracks me up.

Obviously this man became a huge movie star. BEHOLD.

No idea when this is from, but... "Harrison Ford On Sidewalk" pretty much captures the artistic vision to a tee.

1983

Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison during Writers Guild Awards - April 7, 1983 at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, United States. (Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images)

Harrison married Melissa Matheson sometime this year, the same one in which she wrote freaking E.T. A pretty solid one for Melissa Matheson.

I love Steven Spielberg pushing his own damn luggage cart.

1984

BEVERLY HILLS , CA - AUGUST 17: Harrison Ford is an American actor and film producer. He gained worldwide fame for his starring roles as Han Solo in the Star Wars film series and as the title character of the Indiana Jones film series. Photographed at home August 17 1984 , he was a keen woodworker and made tables and chairs for his home when he was married to his second wife, screenwriter Melissa Mathison, whom he married in March 1983 and lived in Mandeville Canyon, Beverly Hills, California( Photo by Paul Harris/Getty Images )

Jessica put up a photo from this shoot during the early pandemic months, in which Harrison awkwardly poses with a bunch of chairs he made. Here, he seems skeptical that his woodworking machine is of interest. Harrison, it IS of interest. Just lean into it. But not too far or else you might woodwork yourself.

1985

This is one of my mother's favorite movies, and while I'm sure she feels that way because of the movie's general excellence... I mean, COME ON. Of course.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - 1984

The Mosquito Coast - 1986

I think of this as a Kurt Russell phase.

Working Girl - 1988

American actors Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford on the set of Working girl directed by German-born American Mike Nichols. (Photo by Sunset Boulevard/Corbis via Getty Images)

He is very handsome in this movie (goes without saying) and Melanie's glasses are VERY LARGE.

NEW YORK CITY - MARCH 28: Actor Harrison Ford on March 28, 1989 walks along Park Avenue in New York City. (Photo by Ron Galella, Ltd./Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images)

He looks like he could be in Melrose Place. Except for how it didn't exist yet.

This is another photo featuring two extremely beautiful people. This is at the premiere of The Fugitive, and I just cannot figure out why Sela Ward is not cast in stuff all the time. Maybe it's her choice? When is HER Peak TV moment going to come?

1993

Julia looks cute here, and also pretty damn excited, as one would be.

This is a junket for Sabrina, and I cannot endorse this facial hair.

1997

Harrison Ford during "Air Force One" Premiere in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, Inc)

This is the premiere of Air Force One. Harrison probably did not imagine that a) people would growl GET OFF MY PLANE at him forever, and b) his suit would look as if he'd inflated it.

2000 - What Lies Beneath

Michelle Pfeiffer is OTHERWORLDLY levels of gorgeous, and Harrison has changed his earring to a small stud.

Lara Flynn Boyle

380620 21: FILE PHOTO: (ITALY OUT): Actress Lara Flynn Boyle smokes a cigarette after the VH-1/Vogue Fashion Awards October 20, 2000 outside Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. It has been reported that "The Practice" star is at the centre of a bizarre love triangle - involving Hollywood heavyweights Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis and Jack Nicholson. (Photo by Arnaldo Magnani/Liaison)

This is not Harrison Ford, obviously. It's Lara Flynn Boyle. The photo turned up because of a gossip story I'd forgotten about, which is that Lara was dating David Spade, Jack Nicholson asked her out IN FRONT of Spade, they dated unbeknownst to Spade for a while, and then knownst to him (he and LFB broke up), and then Lara and Harrison had a dalliance, and it seemed like delicious mess. The ABC news story about Harrison divorcing Melissa Matheson opens with a STONE COLD lede that I do not think a major media outlet would write today.

Calista Flockhart and Harrison met on this very night, and are still together. NICE WORK.

This is when I discovered that the trophy for the World Stunt Awards is SERIOUSLY ENORMOUS. The Lombardi Trophy isn't even that big.

Here, they are at, ahem, "the 2B Free Spring Collection 2004" at Los Angeles Fashion Week. I CANNOT IMAGINE how much everyone lost their minds at Harrison Ford attending LA Fashion Week, which... was always the most discount of fashion weeks. We waited in line next to a Dumpster once just to see a Lauren Conrad show. THAT was the headliner. (It was for NY Mag. We didn't turn up at that on our own.)

This is when I started skipping ahead a little. There were 318 pages of Harrison Ford images. I cannot look at all of that even when I am motivated to do so.

We finish with Harrison doing what we all probably want to: staring at Helen Mirren. What a great early birthday present that was for him.

Happy Birthday, Harrison Ford
He is 80 today.
