The fact that these dogs are in the official photo here is AMAZING to me, as is the fact that Harry and Meghan are clearly trying not to laugh.

Okay! To the ensembles. This dress is a bespoke Roland Mouret and it's just too snug in the bodice for me -- I actually think Mouret does this sometimes as a way to show the internal construction of the bodice, so this fit may be intentional, but I don't love it. I am also not particularly enamoured of the Random Hanging Swath of Fabric --- but I also wonder if this dress would have sung more in, say, a navy blue? The Roland Mouret that Meghan wore on Wedding Eve was so great, and it had a similar Giant Fabric Shenanigan on the hip.

She changed for the rest of their events today -- as did Harry, as you can see -- into a bespoke Givenchy suit. I LOVE a little black suit, but I think I prefer her McQueen one. As you'll see in the next few pics, this one is a little boxier than than one.

WEARING GIVENCHY
I DO think this suit looks better in movement than it does standing still -- and let me be clear; I don't actively dislike it. It's a black suit! V. practical and professional and reasonable. I just think I dig the other one more. (For those who are interested, THIS bag is Givenchy to match the suit, and she carries it often. I wonder if her wearing Givenchy this often has helped the brand in a way that I know it does for brands that are available at a lower price point, and ergo to more people, or if there hits a certain point where her popularity and the Markle Effect gets cancelled out by how much the items that would be Markle Effected cost.)

This photo just makes me laugh. It's a split second, but it looks like they broke into a dance. The fact that she's so agile on cobblestones is a good advertisement for those shoes, which are by her fave, Sarah Flint. I have to admit, if I had a corporate job, I'd totally snap them up. You could TOTALLY justify them by Ye Olde Price Per Wear.
