My thoughts, upon seeing these this morning: 1) "Wow, Harry looks HOT." 2) "OMG Is that dress sheer?!?!!" It's obviously been lined, and I'm always singing that catchy little tune "WHY DON'T YOU LINE THIS DRESS" when in this scenario, so I cannot complain, but you guys, I have enough Christmas anxiety as it is right now! Don't SCARE ME like this! Overall, other than my Sheer-Dress-Related panic attack, this is obviously a lovely photo.

So far, I've seen this particular shot compared to both a perfume ad, and an ad for engagement rings. It is not a bad photo (believe you me, I long for my life to look like ad for diamonds) but there is something about it that feels a little... advertise-y. I'm not sure if that's due to the black and white film, or if it's because her eyes are closed, and the Blissful Closed Eyes Next To A Beautiful Ring is such a trope of jewelry ads, but I do think you could splash the words A DIAMOND IS FOREVER along the bottom and sneak this into the February Elle with no problem at all.
However, while writing the above paragraph, it occured to me that it ALSO sort of looks like an ad celebrating Harry's glorious beard. "Don't ever shave this," Meghan is murmuring. "It's the best beard in the world. Oooh, no, don't move. Let me nuzzle this facial hair just a tiny bit longer. Let me hold this beard in my hands and enjoy it. Okay. Okay, we can move on now. Thank you."

Finally, this was the official outtake from the shoot and I actually like this one the best of all. Not that Meghan and Harry don't look great in the other pictures, because they are two extremely good-looking people, but this one feels the most natural. One of you pointed out on Twitter (I think?) that her dress feels too formal compared to his suit (or his suit feels too relaxed compared to her dress), and I can really see that in this shot, but it's still my favorite of the bunch. Regardless: Mazel tov, kids, and see you at Christmas!
