This is amazing. Mr Zoo is like, "YOU GUYS!! A BABY!" and Harry is like, "What can I say? We did it!" and Meghan is like, "WHEEE!"

I feel VERY SEEN by this moment of Meghan in her flats and sunglasses. (Apparently, she changed into flats to dash about between engagements, including for a brief boat trip. A wise decision -- her feet have got a LOT to do in the next 17 days.)

I promised you I'd ID this coat when I could...and I STILL CAN'T. But it's a nice one. I do love a trench. And I basically thought this shot was very romantic. (Edited! It's by an Aussie brand called Martin Grant.)

SPEAKING OF CHILDREN, Informative Caption tells us that this is "Australian singer Missy Higgins, with her 9 week old baby Luna," and I like to think that Missy Higgins read the big baby news this morning and thought, "FINALLY, there's my icebreaker for Meghan!! I'M GOING TO BRING THE BABY!" (She IS a squashy noodle who anyone would be pleased to meet.)

She loves this color -- and rightly, it suits her -- and she also is clearly a fan of a pleated skirt AND of a shirtdress, so this is really the Platonic Ideal of a Dress for her. I actually love it; I might wish it were a TINY bit shorter but that is the nitpickiest of nitpicks -- the sort of thing you think to yourself when you try on something you know you're going to buy regardless.

Here's a good look at both the earrings and her bracelet, which, as we talked about in today's first post, both belonged to Diana. One of the things I like about these pieces -- beyond the fact that they're pretty! -- is that they feel like the sort of Every Day Pieces a woman might wear to just go about her business as a person, and it's touching to me that clearly the boys saved everything of their mother's, not just The Real Big Jewels. (They may even be costume jewelry.) The Court Jeweller also had lovely insight on her Instagram today: "Butterflies aren't just beautiful creatures. They're also symbols of the soul and rebirth. How appropriate, then, that the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear a pair of butterfly earrings on the first day of her visit to Australia -- which also happened to coincide with the announcement that she's expecting her first baby." I don't think I can write a better kicker than that, truly. Mazel tov, you two crazy kids. And see you all in...twelve hours.
