The Duke and Meghan Duchess of Sussex are on an official visit to South Africa. In August 2018, the UK Ministry of Defence deployed a UK Military Short Term Training Team to work with the Cape Town Maritime Police Unit (MPU) to improve their boat handling skills, confidence on the water and to improve their operational effectiveness. Since that deployment, the MPU have detained a number of abalone smugglers in the Cape Town area who were operating at night.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on an official visit to South Africa. Bo-Kaap is known for its brightly coloured homes and cobbled streets. The brightly colored homes are attributed to an expression of freedom by the homeowners after the emancipation of slavery in 1834. In May 2018, Bo-Kaap was awarded National Heritage Status.

This dress is cute on Meghan -- my note is that I'd personally like it better shorter, but it would not have been appropriate for the mosque if it were at the knee, so this is right for the event. I really want to talk about how good that plant/tile configuration is behind them, though. I enjoy all the jewelry in this shot very much, including Meghan's earrings, which are hard to see in this shot. That dress definitely needs big earrings for this event -- I wrote a whole thing about how I wish she'd worn some and then I noticed that she did.

Did I pull this shot because I ostensibly wanted to give you a full-length look at her dress? Yes. Was it also because I liked the earrings on the woman behind her? Absolutely. (Harry didn't change for this event, so you can just imagine him in his linen suit over by the punch, eating a canape or whatever.)
