Helen Mirren

This photocall was titled, by the photo service, "Homage Helen Mirren Photo Call" -- which I believe is because she won an achievement award in Berlin but is also what they should call every single Helen Mirren photo collection in the world. They are ALL homages. I don't love the boots but this suit is fab even WITHOUT surprise fan patches.

AND THEN. Apparently this is custom -- well, clearly; that doesn't look like she stayed up late at home sewing on a patch -- and she wore it once already in November, but I don't know if it was at a public event (Vogue had that detail). That symbol is the Radiohead logo, and on the back...

This is how I learned that I don't actually know what Thom Yorke is saying half the time. I looked up other lyrics from Karma Police, and I really thought he was sayin, "This is what you get when you mess it up," but I guess it's, "mess with us." ["Fake Plastic Trees" is another one I never knew. I really thought he was saying "fat jester" in there somewhere, but no. Thom is like a newfangled Kenny Loggins. What is ANYONE saying.]

And, we have bonus awesomeness in the form of Helen and Viola doing some L'Oreal work together. Both of them are in good dresses, both of their heads look flawless, and both are in AGGRESSIVELY sensible shoes. Which, for a day of wandering around this random mansion taking photos (they were in hallways, on stairs, outside), is probably a decent play even if it's also a clunky one.
