'Mother and Son' premiere, 75th Cannes Film Festival, France - 27 May 2022
Wearing Dolce & Gabbana
Helen traditionally wears a lot of D&G, so I'm delighted to see her here in a Jenny Packham, especially as we don't see as much Packham on the red carpets anymore and I wish we did. This is a PARTY DRESS, and she came ready for one. I'm not sure the eye makeup isn't a little too aggressive, but at least it's not THIS iteration.

It looks better a bit closer. Also, she hasn't had long hair in eons -- maybe ever, who knows, I am not a Mirren Historian -- and she clearly got a huge kick out of flipping it around.

Truly, has Andie MacDowell ever been happier? (I like her dress well enough, but the star is her hair.)

I would probably also look like this if Helen Mirren grabbed my hands and we twirled. This is unbridled glee.

Nooo, don't spread it out! That makes it worse. I can see all the detailing better, but I can also see right THROUGH the rest of it even more, and... meh.

But, damn, that one was better than this. Why was her top tailored with a butter knife? And why is she wearing a mourning diaper?

I am loving this on Andie, though. This woman DEFINITELY has a great lanai, and knows what to serve on it. (Cheesecake.)(And mimosas.)

They are in the movie that premiered on this night ("Mother and Son") and while it may have slid a hair too far off her shoulder, the color is fantastic on her.

And the EARRINGS. That's a good choice when the neckline of the dress is a little too high for a statement piece around your neck.

The front is shorter, just FYI. Somehow I didn't have a great shot of it. But the back is beautiful. I want to swim in it.

They didn't put a name for this person, but OBVIOUSLY you had to see her here dressed as the high-fashion interpretation of an elephant on its wedding day.
