I think this is so neat, and would be a really unusual experience on a red carpet. I know that Herrera is not generally considered as cool as your Chanels or your Givenchys or whatnot, but if Keira Knightley would just PUT DOWN THE KARL for a second she might have some fun in that. She does sometimes love a big gown.
That colorful rectangle motif, by the way, was also the back of the hard-copy invitation.
I don't mean to be icky, but... that spot is exactly NOT where I would have put that.
I just wish we could tailor that into something sleeker, because it's nice.
Who should we put in that. Rosamund Pike, for a "Gone Girl" premiere? When is that even coming out? I wonder if she'll still be pregnant. I'm not sure why I thought of her, but it works for me.
Crisp and lovely. Julianna Margulies would look nice in that. Or Baranski, frankly.
This otherwise lovely dress seems to have bonus sleeves. Like... elbow coozies.
This is another one where I don't know why it has to be so boxy. It's not a FUN play on volume.
... again, gorgeous color, but not tailored enough on the bottom to make the loose top work for me.
I remember thinking this looked very interesting in motion, and yet it's TOTALLY CRAZY in still photos. It might as well still have the metal rings on it connecting the fabric samples.
Those shoes do less than nothing for me. I'd love to see Michelle Dockery in this at one of those pre-awards luncheons, though.
I LOVE this. It would stun on any number of people. Viola Davis, Olivia Munn (she wears her share of Herrera), even ol' Renee Zellweger.
Could be pretty, but what a sallowing color -- at least, on a lot of people. Maybe? I like yellow so much in theory but somehow the ones that turned up on the runway this year all feel like walking jaundice.
This feels like something a celebrity would wear on the cover of a lifestyle book or something. It's apron-adjacent. NICE apron. A Giada-type "People Magazine Is Photographing Me Inside My Kitchen" kind of dress-apron.
COATS1
This is lovely. My brain is overwhelmed with ideas for who might wear it best. I can't even get out one name. TAP IN, FUG NATION.
If Lizzy Caplan hadn't already done the cool black-and-white gown, this would be nifty on her. I wish, like, Julia Roberts would show up at an event and bust out a gown this interesting.
This feels like Reese Witherspoon Walks Out Of A Medical Building in Beverly Hills, California.
I just want to ... fix this, somehow. It's cool, but the top again looks like it was designed for someone with a different body.
So. Freaking. Cool. I would love it on one of the younger set, should one of them be nominated for anything. Kiernan Shipka is like three years too young for it, sadly. Please, SOMEONE give it a spin, so we can see if it drives as smoothly as we would like.
