This is a strangely beautiful ode to butterflies.
This may be the LESS beautiful version?
And this is the one I feel like Lupita might try one day.
And this is the one that feels like it'll turn up on one of those Unexplained Fashionistas like Camilla Belle, at some Art of Elysium event.
Love these or hate them, the work what went into it all is undeniable.
Although I guess they ran out of bird.
That's quite charming actually, in spots. It's so weird that it's heavily beaded and yet you can still see her chest pretty clearly.
As is usual with these, I wish the tulle patches weren't there, because the workmanship on the rest is so striking.
That is very romantic. If Duchess Kate ever wore Elie Saab, she'd look pretty in that at an event.
Would I RATHER she turned up in this, with its Full Crackpot feathered bodice? YES.
That's lovely, but boy, is that color tough to wear.
Doesn't Yoda live on this planet?
This color palette and this gown transport me RIGHT back to The Great Muppet Caper -- the second time that movie's been mentioned today, in fact -- and the fashion show where the great Diana Rigg is narrating the entire thing as the girls walk out, calling them things like "Delicious Darla" and describing their clothes in detail and then finishing gleefully with, "and a teeny-WEENY hat!!!!!!" I yearn for that to happen at New York Fashion Week.
In white it looks somewhat mangier.
I kind of want Kristen Stewart to wear this in, say, blood red.
There just aren't enough formal robes on the red carpet.
J.Lo, the phone's for you.
Lord. There is ALWAYS one. In that sense Elie Saab is the Marchesa of couture week.
Angelina, maybe?
Hello, sweet friend. I LOVE YOU.
Hello, sweet sibling to my other friend. I should adopt both of you because it'd be cruel to separate you.
Eh.
I don't dislike this, but I'm also bored of the Champagne color. Then again, the concept might be too garish in a hue?
Breathtaking.
Sigh. Another "finish what you started" deal.
All I can think is, "There is no way that woman is getting a picture of the whole dress from that close up."
I like this color. I kind of want to paint a wall this color. Or my nails. I'm really into gunmetal apparently.
This folded bodice is happening a lot right now -- we saw it three times at the Globes (I think we skipped showing you Nikki Reed, because whatever) and once at the SAGs. I'm sure it's just beginning.
We saw a similar one in baby pink. The more I look at it, the more it's a LITTLE Disney for me, in a weird way? But I am not mad at it.
I would love to wear something like that just ONCE to see how it feels. I hope someone trots this out. Like, Naomi Watts or Zoe Saldana at Cannes, say.
But I mostly just want someone to wear this at Cannes. ALL of this. CAN YOU IMAGINE. Freida Pinto, going full bride on the red carpet? Divine madness. I always root for that over divine perfection.
