She got the biggest cheer of the night, and when she got to the end of the runway, she spun and spun and spun. When she stopped she seemed totally exhilarated. It was awesome. Talk about owning your moment.
I also love that she thought to pose with the gauzy part over her arm in this shot, knowing it would give us a different look at the silhouette of the dress. She's savvy.
That's not my favorite dress, but she looks awesome in it. I think it's what the kids might call "slammin'."
I believe Star Jones' Patronus is Star Jones.
She might be MY Patronus.
She basically killed it.
I believe Abby Ewing's presence was the universe's small attempt to make up for the year our flight was cancelled and we missed Joan Collins. She looks pleasantly bonkers.
She came out basically last, because I think the organizers correctly knew that "I Dream of Jeannie" would be hard to follow. She's 83. I love it.
I don't really like this dress, but I DO enjoy that Carla wore the matching specs.
Katie Lee Joel was there to watch Alexa, but Christie Brinkley wasn't. Which probably means NOTHING except that Katie was a good stepmom once upon a time. But if I were Alexa, I ALSO probably wouldn't want my supermodel mom overshadowing my big runway moment. This dress is kind of nutty on her, too.
It looks nutty in a different way when it's in motion.
I have never really been on board with those weird aggressive bib necklines. Nobody needs to turn their boobs into a T-intersectino.
Poor Catt had to go out after the trifecta of Hoda Kotb, Dascha, and Laverne, and it was like all the air had been sucked out of the room -- through no fault of hers. Although, as much as I want to like her dress because it's de la Renta and we're all nostalgic for him right now, I actually really don't care for it. Too crinkly.
Noooooo.
This is sheer nuttery, and also actually sheer.
Very generic, as if everyone was like, "Ugh, we're too busy with the real show."
This is forgettable, but props to her for dancing the entire length of the runway and back in HUGE heels, to the strains of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."
AND HODA. First, she looked fab in her Romona Keveza. And second, she was the first person to hit the runway with any real panache (she came out pre-Laverne), and she lip-synched and danced to "Uptown Funk" with totally perfect timing. Her appearance upgraded this thing's vibe from "very sweet" to "THE BEST WEDDING EVER." Please Treat Yo Self to this short clip on my Instagram -- no audio (that I know of) of Hoda spying the Stella sisters from "Nashville" in the front row and being like, "I LOVE NASHVILLE. LOOOOVE."
But really, she won the night.
