I'm having a hard time writing about this, because it's the first Oscar de la Renta show without the man himself at the helm. I wanted so badly to love what his hand-picked successor did, and I also don't know enough about the process to say with certainty that Mr. dlR hadn't already started this ball rolling before his sad passing, so for the latter reason I feel guilty saying what I'm about to: yikes. It's not the unimpeachable Oscar de la Renta elegance I imagine in my mind's eye.
