Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Lupita recently wore something from Mary's psychedelic phase, and apparently, it has continued apace.

This cracks me up. It's like she dropped acid while staring at an ancient Egyptian urn.

Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

That IS a really cool skirt, but the rest of it is giving me migraines. King Tut-flavored migraines.

Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Apparently, the basic theme of this is: treat it as separates. I like the blazer and I like the skirt. And while they go better together than a lot of these outfits' pieces, I still think they'd flourish more on their own without competition.

Someone tried on her new cocktail dress over her PJs.

Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Socks and heels are bad enough, but mid-shin socks with granny sandals give her a special Nursing Home kind of flair.

Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Don't stare as she walks toward you, or else you might find yourself clucking like a chicken every time someone says the word 'juice box.'

Mary Katrantzou: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This is sort of... it's because I'm easily swayed by the model's own self, but I keep thinking of a Jessica Pare or Michelle Monaghan type in this.

And then the red robin proffered a laurel to the goddess of the afterworld, who simply laughed and cooked it for dinner on her lovely lush green lawn, for in the underworld there is no drought.

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

And then we go to Julien Macdonald, whose stuff I often feel toes the line of vulgarity. It's well-made, but it's heinous.

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This is clearly an homage to a failed shoelace factory.

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This is banal Rita Ora-level formalwear.

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This is just a cat's cradle merged with a bathing suit, for people who are unclear on the concept of "good."

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

And this, which is much more normal albeit still a formal Clan of the Cave Bear outfit, is probably for Taylor Swift.

Julien Macdonald: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

What's frustrating is, even the stuff that's fuller coverage ends up looking from the front like she has a developing crotch wedgie.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

It's a small thing, but this would be a lot more fun without the puckering.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

As usual, there's some fun color and pattern work that's lost in clashing and/or zany details, but at least this show was probably REALLY delightful to behold.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

I particularly wince at the shoes.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

If you took a guitar strap and a first grade class's play parachute and tried to turn it into a Ren Faire costume, you'd get this.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Don't sleep on that robot on her left hipbone. That thing wants to zap the hell out of your spleen.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

You know who should be wearing this line? Jennifer Lawrence. Not because this is all so thrilling, but because it seems WAY more in keeping with her free-as-a-bird personality than Dior is.

Peter PIlotto: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Admittedly, no one should wear this, unless they are bringing back "The Carrie Diaries."

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

I feel like -- and this may sound insane -- I can't take this seriously until we tuck in the shirt.

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

I don't think I meant to download this one, but I did, so: Hey, here's this! It's not that zany! Maybe that's a good thing.

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

I rather like this. The volume, the colors... it's cool. Minnie Driver seems cool, and she has a show now; let's marry them.

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Simple but chic.

Well, if it's going to work AT ALL, it's going to be on Zendaya.

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Girlfriend has the fanciest leg hair I've ever seen. And it's bionic, if it grows through her clothes.

Antonio Berardi: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This totally feels like something Sarah Jessica Parker would wear.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Cate Blanchett and SWINTON may fight to the death for the right to wear a housecoat bedecked with expired false eyelashes.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

The shoes are weird with this, but otherwise, I actually rather like it. And I definitely think we'll see it. If we don't, it's because people are crazy.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

This too, I think. Lousy shoes, but an interesting dress that ought to find its context.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

It was going so well for Casper until someone's fly swatter accidentally found him.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

That's a horse on her thigh. Just to be clear.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Much cuter.

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Cate Cate Cate Cate. Cate!

Roksanda: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

Burberry: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

I assume those sleeves double as coozies.

Burberry: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Burberry DOES know its coats.

Burberry: London Fashion Week S/S 2017

Of course, then this looks like a straitjacket mixed with a Disney Princess bodice that was abandoned after a long coffee break.
