This fabric is really '90s to me. Not in a bad way, necessarily, but if it'd been made as a skort-romper that buttoned down the front and sold at Express, we'd all have been fighting over who got it first.

And Donna Martin might have enjoyed wearing that with a baby tee underneath, and like ten clips in her hair.

Donna Martin REALLY would have wanted to graduate her t-shirts and clips into THIS.

That is kind of shaggy.

That's a pretty fabric. I wonder if that cut on top -- the seams by the neck and shoulders -- will be tough on anyone above a B cup. Will it look like their breasts are hatching out of it?

Capes and ponchos are EVERYWHERE right now. They were before this, and we're seeing that obsession reflected on the runway. Fashion is so backward. I firmly believe they're being led by the nose here just a little, or at least are prolonging what they started because of the current level of fanaticism, but also these outfits are meant for Fall... BUT also, honestly, they're also meant for celebrities to wear them RIGHT NOW because they're the newest. I'm curious if the whole "Shop the Runway Right Away" thing will spread industry-wide.

I promised you business-chic. There was more where this came from, but it felt left of the point for GFY, so I conserved on photos. It's not badly done; it's just a VERY interesting departure.

Intriguing, but I wonder if it'll look weird off a runway. So many angles in that skirt. ALSO, still very '90s fabrics, though not ugly ones. Just... regurgitated-feeling.

We pause for something he probably wants to get on Judith Light. Here I will note that Zac did some very diverse runway casting this season. Apparently 25 of his 33 models in this show are black, per that CNN article. I do wish the instagram he'd posted of it was of THE MODELS, and not of himself, but I suppose sometimes it's also nice to have the famous face attached to the sentiment.

And now back to your regularly scheduled episode of I Had This In 1996 But It Was A Longish Button-Down Vest Thing With A Tie In The Back.

It's like he saw all his scraps in a heap and thought, "LOOK. ART IS HAPPENING."

This is another one that I think is fascinating as part of a runway show but maybe not practically applicable -- inasmuch as any red carpet situation is "practical" in any way.

I do like that all these fabrics appeared in a more standard, basic cut, and then a more avant-garde one.

I also will say that as much as the shapes may be hard to pull off, all these are devoid of some of the typical Posen awkward seaming and boob-darting and whatnot. It's a total change in materials and direction, to me, and I'm quite intrigued by it.

She looks beautiful in that.

Odeya is a starlet in a very starletty Posen that I imagine him offering offered to Christina Hendricks and her reply being something like, "I don't need a Jessica Rabbit moment THANKS." Cynthia over there is knocking people flat in The Color Purple on Broadway -- she's in that show with Jennifer Hudson AND Taystee from "Orange Is The New Black," who I hear are both great in it, and yet Cynthia is getting the most luscious reviews. Maybe it's because she's a relative newcomer. I think it's great. KILL IT, you lovely woman. You look very pretty in your frock. Also, here is a nice big piece on her in the New York Times, in which she makes some lovely statements about self-acceptance and which features a tremendous turn of phrase to describe a person: "episodically vegan." Love that.
p>J.Hud was also at this show in a FABULOUS coat (we've seen the pattern on Judith Light before), and we covered that for Cosmo.

Very pretty and very interesting. A shoe punt, but they all kind of shoe punted here.

She has aged stupendously. I think she looks better now than she did in "Son In Law," but without seeming to have done anything untoward or darkly magical to achieve it.

I feel like she wears that to shlub around the house and just forgot to change.

Getty captioned this "Lola Schnabel" but I would bet money that it's Laura Michelle Kelly from Broadway's "Finding Neverland." Getty has mis-captioned her before as "Lea Michele." Getty needs to WAKE UP where she is concerned, because she is great and talented and seemingly very cool. Also, I enjoy that she looks just a little bit Diva in this photo, and I applaud her taste in purses.
