# I Liked Michael Rider's Debut at Celine

I am admittedly not a fan of former Celine designer Hedi Slimane's work, generally, but for me -- a person who does not have Celine money in the first place, but a girl can dream! -- this feels like an improvement. (And Rider was at Celine before working at Polo, so he should know the brand.) As the *New York Times* said in their coverage, the coats are good. (And, while this might not be their goal, I always like it when I look at a ready-to-wear collection and think that I could sort of approximate it.) What can I say? I'm easily swayed.
