WHAT. NO. This is clearly the nefarious work of an enemy of the state. Why would someone do this to Laura Dern?
Per Wikipedia, "Ni Ni is a Chinese actress best known for her role as "Yu Mo" in the 2011 film The Flowers of War directed by Zhang Yimou." She is also extremely pretty, although this color is maybe not the best thing that ever happened to her.
This is bridesmaidal, but not in a terrible way.
I am distraught that she is no longer the blonde she was on Parenthood, because her hair was super cute for the last season. She also has amazing brows.
Some parts of the 80s MUST BE ALLOWED TO REST IN PEACE.

What did I say about the 80s?
Her Oscars dress was one of our favorites. And I actually think this is cute -- but it would have been so much cuter if those shorts were a mini.
This is just tragic. Someone hook her up with a new stylist, because heads should roll after this one.
HEM YOUR JUMPSUITS. Or risk falling on your face. I speak as a women who once broke her finger when her heels caught on the hem of her jeans and she wiped out. LEARN FROM MY (literal) PAIN.
This feels VERY her.
This feels sort of uptight for the Independent Spirit Awards.
The Independent Spirit Awards: WHERE THE 80S LIVE!!!!!
Behold Lady Edith's newest suitor. (If ONLY. Edith could use a brash, handsome American to sweep into Downton Abbey and romance her.)
This is fantastic.
Wow. I was just kidding, but maybe this WAS where the 80s went to die.
NO. I don't even know what it says there on the hem of her shorts -- "carpe diem," I assume, but it could seriously also be "carpet" or "carpentry." Whatever it says, I AM OUT.
This is cute! I feel better now.
Speaking of cute, these two are.
