Kate is a longtime Kors devotee, so it makes sense that she'd wear him when he's being honored. And this is a good representative sample of his work; a gold sequin turtleneck column dress is, by his standards, considered one of the basics. The coat lining is a fun touch.

But I was not as enamored of her eye makeup, which is why I downloaded a second photo. It's not TERRIBLE? But I don't know that it adds much other than as a slight distraction.

I do enjoy Michael hovering nearby holding the coat for her, with a loving expression.

That's a gorgeous dress, undermined slightly by the hanks of hair around her face.

Fashionista had a really interesting piece on Mvuemba's digital fashion show (her line is Hanifa) and I think she was recognized here for that innovation, which has led to a lot of growth for her line in 2021. (The "ghost models" are visible near the end of this video, and it IS neat.) Seeing InStyle honor an exciting new designer like this makes it even weirder to me that they so unimaginatively platformed D&G on the most recent cover. There's much cooler stuff out there!

Six seasons into This Is Us, or whatever it is, her options should be getting increasingly GOOD; instead this looks shoddily made.

This is colorful. It's funny -- shows dropping all at once on a streaming platform means that they're all the rage for like 72 hours and then everyone moves on with a quickness, so I had to Google whether Queer Eye is still on. (It is.) I just lost track of it completely. He seems like a good egg. I like the sweater, though the proportions of the rest seem... off-kilter in a hipster way.

Lovely. Just so, so lovely.

This reads a little inexpensive? Which is fine if something IS inexpensive. I am more than happy for my $20 sweatpants to look like $20 sweatpants. But that is not $20, and I think I'd like to clip the tail off of it.

I've seen worse sheers. But I've also seen much better ones. At least she's rocking the color?

Another D&G, which you may file away for your pleasure -- and while it's admittedly quite good, it ALSO looks like something Michael Kors would make, which makes me wonder why someone didn't just ask Michael Kors to make it. (You know my whole thing: If you're going to do D&G, do it for something unmistakably them -- like, AT LEAST have the reason be that you're dying for their specific aesthetic, which you don't think you can get anywhere else. Otherwise, bleh.)

What is THIS refried mess?

Be careful when you pop by her tent at the Ren Faire -- she'll do some wacky scarf dancing, burn some incense, and give you juuuust enough of a tantalizing Tarot reading that you won't notice she stole your watch.

KATIE PORTER COMING THROUGH WITH THE JAZZY SHOES (in addition to a great dress). I knew it. I inherently trust a woman who can wield a whiteboard like a weapon. I am sure she doesn't want that to be her only signature, but I do wish someone would make her a whiteboard handbag or something.

These two recently got married, and they look fantastic. Niecy is slaying that hot red.

Wait, hoods are having a moment, and there's no Star Wars tie-in?!?

This is enormously busy. I love the plaid, but it feels a little overstyled -- I don't know if it's fresh off the runway, but it reminds me of when Blake Lively would wear something that was head-to-toe exactly the way it was layered up on the catwalk, which often equates to Too Much on the sidewalk. Like, I'd lose the blouse or the corset or the overcoat, which in this context I wish were cut more like a sportcoat. Maybe more than one of them could go... I just want to try rearranging some deck chairs here.

I like both of these, and they both look fine, but I do not think Kaia should have gone with the shaggy bangs. She doesn't have enough innate talent to model through them.
