I couldn't help starting with a picture that I hope she owns and has framed.

And now we jump ahead to the press for Insecure, although this looks more like the photo advertising her new MSNBC news hour.

I almost always see the cold-shoulder dresses and want to yank them back up, but this is very lively.

And I love this: great skirt, with a simple shirt and good styling.

PERFECT. Seriously, she is JUST coming onto the scene and she's already acing it.

She also loves patterns as much as I do, so bless. This is another super one.

This one didn't need such a wide solid band, I feel like... if at all, a third of the width?

Well, listen. Every celebrity tries the sheers once. They just do. It's part of the life cycle.

There's some extra froof on this, but it works surprisingly well.

I know. I know it's formal shorts. I do. And would I like to see it with leather pants? Yes. But I LOVE THIS JACKET and I cannot be swayed.

Oooh, okay, well, again, every celebrity has a womp-womp moment or two, as well.

I wish this had been lined, but she looks damned good in it anyway.

Sure! Remember when we needed day dresses? Sigh.

I really want to like this. It's glitzy, it's purple, it's patterned. But I find it a tad heavy.

You know how at the Met Gala, the designers later release details of the inspirations behind each outfit? I need to know why her arms have two totally different compression wraps.

As jumpsuits go, that's a yes.

I like this very much.

As referee-chic goes, this is ALSO effective.

We're at slide 19 and it's just turned 2018. It's going to be a while before we get to 2019, too. She is BUSY. This is fine, but Issa loves yellow and this isn't the best of them.

I want to like this, but it looks too big, and as if they didn't QUITE get the length of the necklace correct. Everything is just a smidge off.

I know she likes yellow, but orange is smashing on her too. More citrus for all!

This is a lot livelier than the purple sparkly one from earlier. Bravo, milady.

And I LOVED this. Loved, still love.

THIS is vexing, however. Especially because the front of that skirt is so awesome.

This seems like it would be Fug Nation approved.

This has a Bridesmaid Clearance Rack feel to it -- something about the way the fabric sits on the floor because it's a hair long.

BIG SLEEVE ENERGY.

The shoulder-pad patches are... something... but this is gorgeous work.

Hey, it's Thom Browne. This could have been worse in two hundred ways.

She hosted this event and wore all black designers the whole time, which was great. (I just realized we did have the inside photos -- the last one is my favorite.)

This is so pretty, and I keep wondering if it should be tea-length.

You know I'm a complete sucker for gold.

She doesn't get abs-y very often, so this was a surprise.

I think -- and I never say this -- that this perhaps should JUST have been a jumpsuit.

Funky!

I appreciate the swing at cheerful pants.

So we're JUST now at 2019. Like I said: a busy lady, and this isn't even an exhaustive slideshow. Anyway: I do not like this. She is way more interesting than it is.

This is, I think, the best of her yellow outfits.

WHAT MADNESS IS THIS.

Oh, no, you have to HEM the interesting pants, my friend!

She does not look at all sure about the shape of this, and she is correct to wonder.

This outfit says, "I don't have the emotional energy for the Webbys right now, but I'm trying."

That top is really nifty. It loses steam as it goes.

This fits slightly wrong in the bust, right?

This ALSO is wonky, although that happens with Max Mara a lot, from what I remember.

BACK ON TRACK.

The color is good. This is fine! It's fine. Actually, for a long-sleeve, long-skirted turtleneck dress that could be very consuming, it isn't bad at all.

See? She loves yellow.

And, 2020 has arrived. I love this. Great color, cute cut, and all-around solid styling. She looks smashing.

And that's the last that we have of her, thanks to Covid. I mean, I'm sure she's done some stuff on Instagram, but red-carpet wise, this is it. She looks wonderful, and her bright array of colors and patterns has given me a mood boost heading into the weekend. So it's her birthday week, but she gave US the gift. Thanks, Issa!
