I HOPE she doesn't wear this again? It's very "I'm at the old-time brothel! I'm at the funeral home! I'm at the combination old-time brothel and funeral home."

And of course the back is laced.

I can't remember exactly when the dress code became the theme, but I have to assume it was not this year? Because she... did not care, if so. This is FINE, but also notably, it's not any fancier than anything she'd have worn to a movie premiere.

She was definitely a Marchesa woman around this time. We saw her at least once at their presentations at NYFW. Marchesa did do this stuff well on her.

She'd JUST had their twins like three months prior. We saw her at Marchesa in February of this year and she was VERY VERY CLOSE to having them, and still in sky-high pinpoint heels. Anyway, this color is nice on her.

I had forgotten this theme, and it hews a little too close to the American-centric one they later used in 2021. Obviously J.Lo didn't hew to it AT ALL. This is very lovely.

The Kentucky Derby winner wears a ring of flowers, too.

I appreciate her teasing up her hair in an attempt to look punk.

This red makeup gives her Angry Eyes. More than usual, anyway, like the very skin itself is irritated. This dress is at least on-theme, because it depicts a dragon.

And also, naturally, very naked. I'm surprised to see it took this long for her to go so sheer at the Met, given how often she'd do that at other events.

I love this on her. It's totally unrelated to the theme, but honestly, there's only so far I can ding anyone for that if they look truly good.

It's literal, but it works. I do appreciate sometimes not having to reach SO far to understand the references. I have short arms.

My favorite thing about the Met is the elaborate outfits that drift past in the back of each phoot (that's Kylie Jenner in the purple). J. Lo looks tremendous in this. It was also her first Met Gala since she got engaged to A.Rod, and... well, we know where that went.

Someone please tell her she doesn't have to work SO hard that she throws out her back.

She's repeated basically the same type of shoe for MANY years in a row. THIS was her first Met with Ben Affleck, and she looks SO extra in this -- but it's great. Ralph Lauren did "J.Lo in the Wild West," and that's PERFECT.

I assume this was... aimed at.. things... Karl... liked? Whatever. She looks good in it. On the night she expressed doubts about the hat, but the hat is really what seals it as an extravagance. Otherwise it's just standard regular J.Lo.
