LOOK AT HER. First, the coat. Bless this woman for thinking, "If I'm doing this... I'M DOING THIS." Second, the microphone is totally BeDazzled -- although I'm sure they're actually Swarovski crystals, so it's probably wrong to invoke the BeDazzler here. Third: THE COAT. She sincerely, in the best way, looks like the fanciest toilet-paper lady whose skirts is covering a stack of spare rolls.

She looks like she's trying to turn herself into a Faberge egg. She also at one point took this off, but it was not possible to do it slickly, so it came across as struggling out of a football helmet.

She then shrugged off the coat, as easily as she could, and emerged in this suit that had giant shoulders, and matched the microphone, and frankly also worked really well on stage.

It wasn't until THAT coat came off that I noticed the fingerless gloves. There was just so much else to see before that. APPLAUSE. No stone was left unaccessorized. The performance itself was okay -- her new single is a little boring? But she closed with "Dance Again," which is nice, although I would have gone with "Waiting For Tonight" because WEREN'T WE ALL WAITING???

Pardon the TV grab, but it seemed essential to show you the whole picture of just how EXTRA this experience was.

Yes, I kept downloading photos of this. WE DESERVE THEM.

Her head poking out of the top of this thing is just so entertaining. I never get tired of it. It's like she got caught prematurely hatching and can't decide if she should keep going or wait for her prescribed cue.
