# Jenna Ortega Is The Latest To Resurrect a Galliano Newspaper Dress

Back in 2022, Emily Ratajkowski wore a vintage Galliano-for-Dior from this line[ to a *Harper's Bazaar* bash](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/harpers-bazaar-icons-2022/harpers-bazaar-global-icons-portfolio-and-bloomingdales-150th-anniversary-new-york-usa-america-09-sep-2022-4?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and just the other month, [our new Lois Lane wore one of the black ones to Cinemacon](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-new-lois-lane-wore-an-ode-to-newspapers-to-cinemacon-04-2025/). Now Jenna Ortega is taking the one [originally made famous by Carrie Bradshaw](https://images-prod.dazeddigital.com/1200/296-49-1467-978/azure/dazed-prod/1330/4/1334447.jpeg?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- [twice, actually](https://media.vogue.co.uk/photos/64788ca7a5b1f5a861053297/2:3/w%5F2560%2Cc%5Flimit/GettyImages-90419058.jpg?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- for a whirl. If they recreated it, that was probably cheaper than getting their hands on a real one, as one auction site [is currently selling it for $245,000](https://www.1stdibs.com/fashion/clothing/evening-dresses/worn-sex-city-2-iconic-john-galliano-christian-dior-newsprint-dress/id-v%5F14218092/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I'm not really sure what's driving the Galliano love, or why it's happening here and now and on Jenna Ortega. It looks fine on her, but I also don't think this experience is lending the dress any currency it didn't already have -- there isn't a new take, the styling isn't fresh or unusual; there's nothing additive here. I'd rather have seen Jenna put her own stamp on *herself* rather than dredging up something that will forever be associated with someone else.
