I know we harp on this a lot, but sometimes you see a custom gown that looks like it was a blind fitting, and sometimes you see one that's so precise it really does look like it was born on your body. This one falls into the latter for me.

And it looks fabulous in motion.

The collar doesn't OFFEND me, but I'm not sure it needed it -- that almost feels like a detail they added so that people wouldn't think the silhouette was too straightforward, or something. This hair and makeup, though... that's really flawless.

Pause to appreciate Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress, although I don't know why her hair is so... egg-shaped? Someone on Twitter (I believe) pointed out that she's turning into Olivia Colman and THE ACCURACY. Except Olivia's hair doesn't do that. It almost looks like bedhead.

Maggie is there because Peter is in the movie. Everyone here looks nice, but honestly, who's looking anywhere but right in the middle.

If I had to have a beef, they didn't quite blend Jessica's copious hair extensions as well; I saw something from the back earlier in the weekend and never located it again to show you, but you could see the line of her actual hair. It's a small thing. I loved that she wore her SAG shirt, and she spoke very eloquently at the panel about why she can promote this film, and how it sends a message to actors and producers that deals CAN be made and that they are not beholden to the bad-faith negotiating that is(n't) happening right now. Love it.

I also love this: You almost NEVER see anyone coming off their water taxi looking windblown. She's fluffing her hair here, so it wasn't THIS extreme, but it did look a little frizzy and just refreshingly REGULAR. (This is also how we know for sure she got extensions -- this is her regular length and it's from when she arrived.) RELATABLE.

Maybe that's why, on the way back, she decided to slick it all back.
