The film centres on an English professor who, after the sudden death of his partner tries to go about his typical day in Los Angeles. The film stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode and Ginnifer Goodwin.

Unsurprisingly, this is by Tom Ford. He often does well by her. I think this is beautiful and very sexy, and the snake bracelet winding up over her wrist and sleeve is a funky way to make sure a lady never NABs.

This is a Tom Ford that does NOT do very well by her. it's rather boring -- very Leia Lite, with distracting seams everywhere.

But then, when she attended the Globes as a nominee for her role, she wore... Balenciaga?!? And a blah one, at that. I know the white dress was boring, but he could've pulled out something better than a literal sad sack.

I guess she was really in a romance with Balenciaga, because she then wore it to the Paris premiere. This is so nearly good, but the slit is awkward, and the belt looks like a last resort. This started off so well, and then we slid into the Pepto pit of despair. I'd have loved to see Tom Ford fix this. Maybe she should have called him. Maybe she DID and he was like, "JUST CINCH IT. CINCH YOUR PINK BOILS WITH A RANDOM BELT. GOODBYE."

It's Thursday. How About a Julianne Moore Moment?
