Simu Liu
Juno Awards, Arrivals, Budweiser Stage, Toronto, Ontario, Canada - 15 May 2022
Simu hosted the event, and all the TV ads billed him as "international sensation Simu Liu," which feels accurate to me. He looks great in this pink.

Juno Awards, Arrivals, Budweiser Stage, Toronto, Ontario, Canada - 15 May 2022
She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the show, I gather. She looks super (this is, I think, not as sheer as it might want you to believe).

Charlotte is clearly their Next Big Thing, as she walked away with four Junos (but did not walk the red carpet first). I don't know what this even is. Her album is called Phoenix, so maybe... the top is... and then the red... nope, I can't get there.

Bilal is, and I'm quoting their Wiki here, "first queer South Asian Muslim actor to lead a Canadian primetime television series" (it is Sort/Of, about a genderfluid main character). I love the dress, but the wrapped shoes like that always feel like a circulatory mistake.

These two are a bluegrass duo, although the dude on the right looks more like he's someone's chaperone. (I haven't watched yet; I hope I get to see him stomp.) Man on Left really tried it with that shirt, but it doesn't work with the pants. Maybe dark-wash blue jeans?

They're a band from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation -- "part of the Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) Nation, one of the largest Aboriginal Nations in North America." You can learn more about that here. (Missisauga is in Ontario so I assume that's where they are?) They were up for Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year, and they didn't win, but in many ways I think they did.

YOU GUYS. Her story is INTERESTING: "Wolf was born in Creston, British Columbia, to a teen mother of Danish descent and raised in a trailer with her maternal family. She was told she was half-Mexican growing up, only to learn she was First Nations at the age of eight. Her father reached out to her with the discovery that he had been unwittingly taken in the Sixties Scoop and had his ethnicity covered up on his adoption papers. He found his family in the Saulteau community near Chetwynd." AND she grew up in a Doomsday Cult?!? (She escaped.)(Obviously.) Where is the movie???

They are an indigenous group from Wiikwemkoong, Ontario, and got nominated for their first-ever album. I don't have much great to say about her dress, but I am obsessed with his sweatshirt, and I THINK the jacket she's not really wearing is very similar. She should really show it off.

They're a brother-sister country group who were nominated for their second album, Sophomore Slump. Given the name, it's kind of apt that they didn't win. Also the cut of her dress made me do a double-take to ensure it's not a saggy sparkle diaper (it is not).

They're a pretty big deal; they played the Grey Cup halftime show this past year (that's the CFL Super Bowl, and yes, in addition to curling, I am hot for the CFL now; I am so predictable). The dinosaur shirt is charming, and I'm into the fire jacket.

I saw her open for Ivan Decker last fall, before Omicron, and she was really funny; I'm so excited that she won for her comedy album. I am not excited by her outfit, but whatever, she won a Juno, she'll get a better stylist next time.
