I just made a joke in my head about whether, in Northern Ireland, they call her Carrickfergie, and then realized that probably NOBODY would enjoy that. Including Fergie. Anyhoo, here is the coat. The color is gorgeous on her, and it's mostly good, but the capelet attachment somehow comes across as just a BIT goofy to me. But it’s all tailored immaculately.

I downloaded a lot of photos of the capelet. It seems to detach! Maybe? I know that is the main design element of the coat, but rather than giving it a very trench-y feel, it just sometimes looks like arm flaps. (The earrings, you will recognize as ones that once belonged to Diana, which William gave her. Pretty uninpeachable choice with the blue color scheme today.)

Wearing Mulberry
What did I tell you? I downloaded a lot. Apparently it's just as important to see this coat from an ever so slightly different angle. I like it better the longer I sit with it, but somehow the collar and cape and all the buttons around them start to look crowded around her neck. And they look goofy -- there's that word again -- when she waves. It's not BAD; it just struck me. The rest is so appealingly crisp that I can get over it.

"Stop looking at the arms. Have you seen my purse? HERE IT IS!" Thank you, Baroness. It's very pretty.

The Baron twisted his usual blue suit by wearing blue pants and a blue v-neck, and then an interesting jacket. I don't cover them that much personally; this feels new to me, though. New and GOOD. Experimental Sportcoat William gets a thumbs-up from me. I'm still not sure about the brown shoes, but it shall ever be thus, I'm afraid.

Here's the Packham, which Kate Twitter confirmed as new, rather than -- as was once theorized -- an altered version of one she wore in Canada (with thanks to What Kate Wore and UFO No More for that discussion and confirmation)(also, young George and Charlotte in that link!). It's a pretty, rich blue, and the style is EXTREMELY Kate, right down to the little belt. She LOVES a velvet ribbon belt.

"Do you KNOW how many of these paste tubes Harry ate as a child? And when I say 'child' I mean up until about two years ago."
