# Kate Digs WAY Back for Her BAFTAs Look!

[Everyone at the BAFTAs this year was meant to wear something sustainable -- either sustainable/green fashion, vintage, a rented gown, or a re-wear](https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/fashion/baftas-2020-red-carpet-outfits-vintage-carbon-neutral-a9313341.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). (Obviously, you could argue that MOST red carpet gowns are "rented," as many of them are borrowed from the designer in the first place; the issue is that they then go right into the archives without anyone else getting a use out of them.) It made for an interesting red carpet, which we of course will be covering in full first thing Monday; it's a bit hard for me to tell if everyone actually adhered to this or just did whatever. As far as these two go, though: William, of course, is always sustainable in his tuxedo, as I believe it is the only one he owns. (When you're a man, I suppose you don't need that many bespoke tuxes.) But Kate opted for a rewear from the waaaaayback machine, [a McQueen gown we last saw on their 2012 tour of Singapore, Malaysia, and the Solomon Islands. (](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/wills-and-kate-far-east-trip-part-three-09-2012/)The post is also from the day the Kate Topless Photo Scandal broke, and it reminded me how soon that happened after Harry's Naked Vegas Jaunt. Ah, MEMORIES!) I didn't love it at the time -- I thought it was too Disney Princess -- but it's grown on me.
